Mack Attack Posted August 29, 2012 Share Posted August 29, 2012 Only interested in moving Edler if he makes it known he's not interested in taking a cap-friendly deal to stay here. That being said, we'd have to get a defencman back in a Luongo trade who'd be capable of playing in the top 4 (Kulikov from FLA or Gunnarsson from TOR). They'd both be an obvious downgrade, but it could be worth it if Edler's going to be too expensive to retain anyways. Then I'd offer this: To Winnipeg: Edler Jensen 1st Round Pick To Vancouver: Kane Overpayment, but it's probably what it would take. Love Edler but he's not going to have as much value just because he's UFA after this year (especially to a team like Winnipeg that has trouble attracting talent). 1st also doesn't hold much value since it'll be in the 20s, but it still will hold some value. I hate giving up Jensen but I think it'd be worth it for Kane. Kane's an upgrade on him and plays the same position, and we still have another good young winger in Kassian. I'd prefer to give up Schroeder but don't think he holds as much value as Jensen does. Sign Arnott to a 1 yr, 1.25M deal. Sign Kane to a 4 or 5 year deal between 4.5-5. There would be no need to dump Malhotra as he will become an UFA after this season and as for Pietrangelo, there is no way STL would let him walk, they'd match any offer sheet.
