There are great Finnish players out there like Esa Tikkanen, Saku Koivu, Miikka Kiprusoff, Tomas Sandstrom etc. But most of us can agree that Teemu Selanne and Jari Kurri are right at the top. So the question is who is the greatest Finnish player in NHL history?

I'm saying Aladeen a lot because http://forum.canucks...dpost__10922428

I bet when Schneider turns 38, he will have broken all of Luongo's records.

They played in different eras with different teammates, so its kinda hard to judge...but I think based on individual skill it would probably be Selanne

Although I have to admit I haven't watched Kurri play a lot...

Sandstom is a Swede, Vintage. :)

Jari Kurri is the best Finn to ever grace the NHL. Teppo Numminen is the best Finnish defender, IMO.

I never got to see Jari Kurri play, but I am led to understand he is quite good.

Teemu, then Jari...but I see a star down the road for the Buffalo Sabres in Armia. The kid will rip up the league with Grigorenko centering him.

Teemu didn't play with the Great One. As great and amazing Kurri was, Teemu is still my top dawg.

I miss the Kurri/Gretzky/Messier/Anderson/Coffey/Tikkanen/Fuhr days. Ahhhh childhood.

Uh...Huh, huh... You are correct, Sir! *in Ed McMahon voice*

Played international for the Swedes, though. One of favorite Swedish players ever.

Selanne didn't also have to play in the 80's era of rock em' sock em' hockey.

Kurri did, and still managed to be the second highest scorer in Oiler history, only 2nd to Gretzky.

He's also ranked #50 in THN's 100 Greatest Hockey Players....the highest ranked Northern European.player.

This is a hard one, there stats are very similar. Both are amazing snipers who had very long and productive carrers.

Kurri you could argue benefited from played with Gretz, although I have a feeling Gretz himself would argue he benefited from playing with Kuri. Selanne, had a couple of off years (by his high standards) and never repeated his amazing rookie but when was one he was one of the best.

In the end I voted for Kurri for being one of the only players to score 50 goals in 50 games

Kurri and Selanne were both great, a very tough choice.

I would have to say Kurri, but by a very slim margin.
