That flag stands for racism. The people who fought under that flag, were fighting to keep slaves. Just because some ignorant southerner tried to re brand it in the 60's/70's does not mean it is not associated with racism anymore.

It is like a present day German putting a Nazi flag on their car.

Don't say it is THAT different under that flag(and prior) The Confederate States killed hundreds if not thousands of African Americans for no reason.

That flag was created to represent their RACIST views.

This has NOTHING to do with liberal vs conservative. In fact the US was under Republican government when they outlawed that flag, and fought the army that represented it. It is doing what is right. Just because something is old, does not make it right.

The number #1 song in Canada in 1906 was "White Canada Forever", that does not mean it should ever be played again. It was ok for people of Jewish faith to be banned in certain neighbor hoods in Canada(and it was perfectly legal) in the early 1900's, that does not make it right. Understand?

This is gayer than Graham James, I mean seriously...

Anyways both the Confederate and Union/U.S. flags stood for racism when it comes down to it.

The Union wasn't so much against slavery as it was against undermining the economic base of its rival faction, and by casting its war as a war against slavery it prevented the European powers from assisting the Confederacy for fear of appearing pro slavery. The treatment and status of Black Americans for a good 130 years after the war tells the real story.
