Pears
That's actually a very good job of getting under a new salary cap EDIT: Mis read that. I think we would be ok with your proposals as we would be freeing up close to $13 million
CanucksFanMike
More than half the league would be over the salary cap... there would have to be rollbacks or else the league would be a mess with more than half of the teams trying to do things like this. Grapefruits
Will never happen, if the cap goes down there will have to be rollbacks.

Alex Burrows 14
Nice lineup but hwbout, trade luongo for ellerby, howden, a first trade ballard, raymond, alberts, a first for couturier, haha i know, real original but it makes sense, philly is desperate for d man and ballard would fit in their top 4 and alberts would be a depth d man, raymond would take couturiers spot in the lineup and the first would turn into a prospect CAPGEEK.COM USER GENERATED ROSTER My Custom Lineup FORWARDS Daniel Sedin ($6.100m) / Henrik Sedin ($6.100m) / Alexandre Burrows ($2.000m) David Booth ($4.250m) / Ryan Kesler ($5.000m) / Sean Couturier ($1.375m) Chris Higgins ($1.900m) / Manny Malhotra ($2.500m) / Jannik Hansen ($1.350m) Aaron Volpatti ($0.600m) / Maxim Lapierre ($1.000m) / Guillaume Desbiens ($0.600m) Dale Weise ($0.615m) DEFENSEMEN Kevin Bieksa ($4.600m) / Dan Hamhuis ($4.500m) Alexander Edler ($3.250m) / Jason Garrison ($4.600m) Kevin Connauton ($0.900m) / Chris Tanev ($0.900m) Keaton Ellerby ($0.700m) / GOALTENDERS Cory Schneider ($4.000m) Eddie Lack ($0.750m) ------ CAPGEEK.COM TOTALS (follow @capgeek on Twitter) (these totals are compiled without the bonus cushion) SALARY CAP: $58,000,000; CAP PAYROLL: $57,590,000; BONUSES: $635,000 CAP SPACE (22-man roster): $410,
elvis15
If the cap truly goes down to $58M, then teams like Florida and Philly (as suggested in this thread) wouldn't be able to take on players with $4-5M+ cap hits as then they'd be over the cap themselves. In other words, no way it happens without salary rollbacks so no way to predict what we might have to move if anything.
Red-Haired_Shanks
C'mon mann.. And what do they get exactly ? If you were Florida, would you do accept this trade ?
Provost
The league isn't even asking for rollbacks... it's current proposal has the cash going into escrow. That basically means the cap stays the same but at the end of the year when they figure out actual revenues, the owners would take all that cash that was held back to make the % split work out. Drybone
I disagree. What I think is reasonable is to keep the cap at 70mil and freeze it there until that is 50% of the revenues. They it can go up accordingly. Players win, Owners win.
