My board 2011 153 Ultrafear, I ride contraband bindings but if I have the money I'm definitely getting a different pair of binders, I can't get those ???? things to fit right.

I use to ride Grouse and Whistler but now I live in Quebec for the winters so I got a pass for Mont Saint Saveur, It's a really nice hill pretty comparable to Grouse or Cypress with a bit less vertical, but the park they set up there destroys the BC locals. I do miss powder days at Whis though, those were the best days. Hopefully I'll get up to Tremblant for the first time this year.

Awesome board! Love Capita's graphics on all their boards.

How big are the mountains there, I hear the snows great, not deep but still good.

The mountains in QC are ok in size about the same as Grouse I guess nothing compared to Whistler obviously but I've also never been to Tremblant which is supposed to be the big one there.

The snow on the other hand is incredible it's probably about 15 degrees colder so it makes for this super light dry powder. It's true it doesn't get as deep but you'll never have to deal with heavy ass slush in February.

This will be the place i go to on my next overseas ski-trip.
La Grave is a stunning and wild mountain area. The term Ski Resort is barely appropriate; apart from the limited glacier skiing noted below, La Grave has no pistes or marked runs. There is a single telecabine that potters up to 3200 metres, pausing for a quick pick-up at an intermediate lift station with the elaborate name of 'P1'. From the top, there is no easy way down and you are warned that you proceed at your own risk - and they mean it.

That looks phenomenal. That tiny town only has 500 people in it too. Truly jealous.

Literally looks like you'd be on top of the world and looks steep. How much does it cost you to get to the Alps from Australia. I've been the Alps once when crossing from Italy to France and the only mountain I went up on is Mont-Blanc, really gave me an idea of how truly massive those mountains are.

Managed to find an 07 Forum Grudge JP Walker for $40 hah. Oldie but a goody.

Good price, sick simple graphics but I'm not gonna lie I hate the ICS track system for the bindings. I feel like the bindings will slide up and down on it when you ride on it. I much prefer the 3 or 4 pin system.

But in the end I wish it was that easy the mount bindings on skis as it was on snowboards.

TBH I thought I would hate the ICS but I actually really don't mind it. It's been rock solid for me so far.
Love the tone-on-tone holographic type pattern haha.

I'll be looking into some new boards later but for now this is fine :)

the cheapest fare i can find at the moment is $1360 return , which i consider a bargain .

within five minutes of walking out of the resturant at the top of the cable car you can be in a life or death situtation .
there are avelanches, crevasses, exposed lines every where , no ski-patrol , it is all up to you .

That's a fantastic deal but its gonna be one long flight...

Sounds like an overdose from the adrenaline you'll get. In other words pure awesomeness.

Pretty excited for the upcoming season myself. This will be the first year I get to go up multiple times.

I wanted to invest in a good snowboard jacket this year, but am a little daunted at all the selection and brands out there. Maybe some of the experts could steer me in the right direction. I have a budget of about $300, willing to go a little higher if necessary. Any good brands, or shops around the Fraser Valley, or even websites I should look into?

$300.00 is a great price.

Best place to buy Snowboard jackets is the Boardroom on West 4th in Vancouver or the one in North Van.

Or if you wanna order online try out evo.com -That's where I get most of my stuff.

As for brands, there's plenty out there, it just depends which one you like the most. Maybe you want to match it too your board? Any specific materials (Gore-Tex?), how about colours, or specific designs?

These are the brands I'd choose:

Burton: http://ca.burton.com...default,sc.html

Ride: http://ridesnowboard...ar/mens/jackets

Other jackets: Oakley, 686, Helly Hanson, Quicksilver, DC and a few others.

As long as you don't get those Firefly or Ripzone jackets from sportschek I'm fine. I can't stand those.

Speaking about outfits. This is my Armada Bolt jacket which matches my orange Electric EG2 goggles and the skis but I still have yet to get new pants. I'm planning on either Black, Grey or Beige?

I guess its worth the $30,000 for a semester.

Especially since they get to ride Mammoth, one of the best mountains in the US.

Whistler might as well secede and join Australia.
Banff is funny too, so many Australians living there, and they almost all say they would move to Whistler if it weren't for all the Australians in Whistler.

Those damn Australians are taking all of our jobs. With all the Aussies there I can't help but wonder if the ski resorts down under are run by Canadians?

Haven't been on the slopes in a couple years and I am stoked for this winter.

Burton Bullet - 164 is what I ride up here in PG at Powder KIng. Red-neck riding at its finest, but the snow is GREAT.

Even a 164 is a little on the short side for me, but I prefer not to have a giant plank under my feet, it's bad enough that it has to be wide with my size 13 snowshoes. LOL

I've never actually worked as an instructor yet but I got my level 1 snowboard cert at Cypress 2 winters ago.
It's a super easy course if you pay attention and memorize all the techniques and steps they give you for teaching.
I'm not gonna lie though this course was the least fun I've ever had snowboarding they'll probably make you do some really boring stuff but it's definitely worth it in the end.

Mate don't do it , we call ski-instructors seagulls for the obvious reasons  , seriously the first few years are hell, beginner groups, lessons on gentle slopes .
get a job as a dish pig , bartender , any night work so you can ski all day .

In my opinion Holden has the nicest looking jackets for snowboarding and $300 is perfect for their higher end price range. http://www.holdenouterwear.com/

I got the Tarquin in red plaid it's sooo slick

Awesome stuff.

I've already done all the online stuff, looks pretty basic, maybe I'll get my lvl 2 afterwards.

I just want to work on the mountain.

We'll see how I like it after the first year. The perks are great.

If not I wouldn't mind working as a repair guy, waxing the skis, mounting the bindings up there, etc...
