billabong
you are so stupid almost as stupid as nucks management for asking him to take a paycut after being arguably the canucks best defender until the marchand incident. Happy birthday Salo I hope you have a great season.

Guest Gumballthechewy
I don't get why everyone is so upset he's gone, he's was a great d-man yeah, but he's getting old and he was already injury prone to begin with, we got younger with Garrison, not worse. Salo's getting his well earned retirement money in Tampa and good on him I say, he's more than earned it! Oh yeah, happy belated birthday Sami! I hope you didn't spend all that money on booze, hookers and cocain you ol' dog you!

SkateLogoWasBetter
I'm so glad so many fans here on CDC have the hockey sense and loyalty to still respect Sami. I was livid when he went to Tampa but the money coupled with the fact he was told they were going to sign Garrison and his time was through means he left with class. 9 seasons where the Canucks win record was infinitely higher when he was in the lineup. He's one of the top 5 Dmen in Canucks history and he took a hometown discount on his two prior contracts. Frankly, the Canucks are a less complete team without Salo
