Edler's Mind Tricks
I was sure this was a joke. I was right.
Drybone
He cant be traded till next year by then Edler will be signed or traded. If hes signed then his NTC would kick in if he gets once since it would have to be post July 1 I think Nashville shudda traded us his rights for Edler and 2 firsts and a second. Grape
It's kinda a weird rule. Why can't they trade him for a year? Anyone know?
SkeeterHansen
Alex Edler, Jannik Hansen, Eddie Lack, Nicklas Jensen, Brendan Gaunce, and two first round draft picks for 2013. If that was the asking price? I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Jaku
There are also 29 other teams interested in Shea Weber. Until i see the actual trade it's nothing more than just a rumor and talks.
Common sense
What? Since when? Why would we need shea weber?
Ossi Vaananen
Should have kept the lid on this one VC. This will explode CDC. Let's hear the trade proposals then...
BM24
Rather have Edler + depth/prospects then just Weber. Soon the Sedins aren't going to be first line players, and then soon they'll be retired. We need to keep our prospects now. Do you guys really want to be like Calgary with no future? We have Garrison, and our defense is set. No need to go overpaying for a player.
Joel Heyman
Alex Edler, Jannik Hansen, Eddie Lack, Nicklas Jensen, Brendan Gaunce, and two first round draft picks for 2013. If that was the asking price? I'd do it in a heartbeat.

Ryanstorm
I can't really imagine Weber fitting on our lines unless we traded Edler in that case I say no.

Canucksbiggestfan
They would probably ask for Kesler, Edler, Schroeder, Jensen, 2013 1st Round Pick, 2014 2nd Round Pick. That is what I would expect their asking price to be or somewhere near that value, so I would say that it would not be worth it.
Mike Versace ESQ
Just to piss off the spelling police and ruin their day....I'm gonna spell it Webber.

naslundfan921
Common logic says that it'll cost more than 4 late first rounders individually which is what Nashville would've got had they not matched the offer sheet..Would it be fair to say that the relative asking price would be around the same as when an unhappy elite defenseman Pronger (31 at the time) got moved from Edmonton to the Ducks? If this is the case it means Lupul (at the time a promising young goal scorer with potential) + Smid ( a young D man picked in the top 10 of his draft year) + 2 first rounders (1 conditional on Anaheim winning the cup which they did) and a 2nd round draft pick would be the basic structure from which a trade for an Elite d-man like Weber would cost (maybe a bit more if age is considered seeing as Weber will just be 28 when we are able to hypothetically trade for him). So now the question is do we have that type of package to offer?
