Chicago has a big trade to announce pending Commish approval.

TO CHI:

Halak(85)

Schwartz(65)

Russell(78)

contract dump(?)

TO STL:

Crawford(82)

Stalberg(81)

Oduya(80)

Hayes(74)

GM H2 had this to say. "Today is a great day for the Blackhawks organization. We had successfully achieved two of our greatest goals, which were to get a star goaltender and continue to build for the future by getting young players on cheap contracts.

We have the utmost respect for Corey Crawford, and applaud him on his play thus far. However we felt that a move would be beneficial for us due to his attitude. His numbers are near the top of the league except for his SV%. I think this is more of a testament to our commitment to team defence here in Chicago, and not entirely on Crawford's overall ability, as he might tell you.

We would also like to thank Victor Stalberg for his time with our team. He played great in his tenure with us, and he probably would not have been moved if he had not gone down with injury. While he was injured, our team stepped up to the task of filling his void, and we believe that players like Frolik and Carcillo can up there offensive output to fill his void.

Oduya was also another veteran d man that we valued, though at his cap hit, it was not reasonable for us to keep him.

We would also like to thank Hayes for his solid play on the 4th line, though we believe we will be fine without him in the long run.

At this time, we would also like to welcome newcomers Jaro Halak, Jaden Schwartz, and Kris Russell!

Halak has shown he can be a very good NHL starting goaltender, and we believe that he will excel under our tight defensive system. He has also shown to be clutch in the playoffs, which will be great as we plan on going for it all this year.

Schwartz was really a deal breaker in this trade, and the only reason we gave up Stalberg. This kid is a stud, mature years beyond his age. He captained team Canada at the WJC and we expect him to be a leader on this team for years to come. We also see him joining fellow Canadian Jonathan Toews and line mate Pat Kane on that left wing now vacated by Stalberg sooner rather than later. This kid is much to good to be in the AHL, and we believe that his unique playmaking ability can be utilized by those stars. Depending on Frolik's production, Dave Bolland could perhaps be bumped down to the 3rd line, having Schwartz or Sharp center that second line and have Frolik on the top line, where he has been during the tenure of Stalberg's injury.

Russell is another player we are ecstatic to have acquired. We were really puzzled to see him on St. Louis's trade block. When we have played against them, Russell has been very solid for them. He is young and cheap, already making him more appealable than Oduya to us. He also has great wheels and an underrated defensive game. We believe that he has good upside and we expect him to play solid alongside Montador this year in the #5 role, seeing 2nd unit PP time behind Keith and Campbell, and stepping into the top-4 if an injury presents itself.

Overall, great day for the organization."

*EDIT: Sorry, didn't realize this was so long.

Chicago is looking for a top-6/top-9 forward (81+). Willing to give up all picks and prospects (Mcneill and Schwartz unavailable) as well as currently 3rd liners such as Brunnette(78)/Frolik(79) and Bickell(75). PM me or send me an offer if interested.

Thanks, H2

Campbell(83) on the block for a a forward of a similar quality. He is a great offensive d-man with amazing wheels. He is underrated due to his (lack of) physical play. PM me or make me an offer if interested!

@Eklund: A source very close to me is saying talks are heating up between Chicago and LA, could be a trade happening before SIM tonight.

LA Kings still have Bernier OTB (7GP 5W 3SO 1.31GAA .95SV) Looking for a young top 6 Winger. Straight up.

Oh and those stats for Bernier are all simmed games, kids got game.
