my question is for the season do we have kassian on the fourth line the third line the 2nd line or maybe playing on the first with the sedins i think we should give him a chance with kesler and booth

daniel henrik burrows
booth kesler kassian
higgins lapierre hansen
weise malhotra raymond

I think he should EARN a spot - we'll let his play determine which spot, if any.

why do my teams always have a good chance to win it all when there is a strike/lockout?

You don't know that. And its there*.

I think if Kassian is ready for top six minutes, put him with Kesler and Booth. I remember MG saying that Zack could be our Dustin Brown/Dustin Byfuglien type of player if he's given the opportunity.

Somewhere, somehow I'd like to know the connection between Brown and Byfuglien?

I hope Kass follows the Brown route. He does absolutely anything and everything to win, at maximum effort every night! Buff is a supremely gifted physical specimen, but a slug nonetheless on many nights...

It's kind of an unfortunate situation because Kassian would be far better off developing on the 3rd and 2nd lines, the problem is... he isn't really better than any of our 3rd or 2nd liners right now. Perhaps if someone slumps or gets injured he can play on those lines, but I see him sitting on the 4th this season.

Kassian is not necessarily better, but 20 lbs bigger and perhaps faster than all those he will compete to steal time from. He has physical gifts to dominate a game and it is worth looking to see if all his extra training has positioned him to take advantage of that?

Adequate answers such as this is means this thread is a rehash of nothing based on killing time.

AV is a massive stumbling block for Kassian imo.

I don't agree. I think Kassian will be given every opportunity to reach his potential. Gillis can't afford another blunder. There are still a lot fans/media that are not happy about the trade. If CH reaches his potential in the near future, Gillis will be in trouble.

Regarding Kassain; I do not want to see him with 4th line minutes. If he can't make at least the 3rd line, he should go to the Wolves and play on their top 2 lines.

AV likes to juggle his lines, and will probably give Kassian a chance on a number of lines depending on how Kassian looks in the preseason and early into the season. However AV doesn't have alot of patience, so I think Kassian better come into the season ready to play. Kassian definitely has alot of talent, and potential, its just a question if he can bring it into the faster, tougher NHL. The Canucks definitely need tougher, more in your face players, with talent to balance the squad especially in the playoffs.

Kass deserves a third or second line spot, otherwise I think he should spend another year in the AHL.

A lock out might just do Kassian good. People keep forgetting his age, bringing this guy along slowly is to his benefit.

probably 3rd line

how bout this

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows
Booth-Kesler-Higgins
Kassian-Lappy-Hansen
Raymond-Malhotra-Volpatti

LOVE this as a checking line. Let's hope AV shows some confidence/trust in Kassian and makes it happen.

to start season.

Daniel - Henrik - Kassian.................... (if it doesn't work try Booth)
Raymond - Lapierre - Burrows...................... (Kesler injured)
Booth - Higgins - Hansen................Kassian for Booth if 1st line doesnt work for Kassian.
Volpatti - Malhotra - Pinizzotto ..................(Lapierre) when Kesler comes back. Manny needs to rediscover his physical game.

Ya, they have a short video of Kassian up on the home page... his baby face is largely gone now and he has definitely leaner. Hope he is the same weight but more muscle mass... we want him to be throwing his weight around a little more.
Protons have mass? I didn't even know they were Catholic!

Well, I know it. And I'm pretty sure inside you know it too. A lockout is inevitable at this point.

EDIT: Off topic, but did anybody else think Kassian sounded REALLY sarcastic on his comments in the video on the homepage?

Kassian on the top line?? Come on guys. 3rd line at best to start the year, unless he improves drastically for the 2013-14 season.

With status quo > probably 3rd line! Lappy40 already posted what I also believe is the most likely line up;

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows
Booth-Kesler-Higgins
Kassian-Lappy-Hansen I also would get excited to see this line on the ice!
Raymond-Malhotra-Volpatti

But I'm already on record as double shifting the Sedins. Only play them with Burr in key offensive situations, but get them out with other guys to create more physically competitive lines (Twins Burr = very ordinary 185 lb average size) that can play in all zones. For example;

Twins / Burr > prime offensive shifts
Danny / Kess / Booth > effectively our first line (imagine a playmaking winger like Danny dishing to powerful speedy forwards Booth / Kess?)
Burrows / Hank / Kassian Anybody not think Kassian could develop faster and score more goals with Hank / Burrows dishing? Plus they would have a real man on the boards and would pick apart 2knd tier match ups!

Scary good!

my question is for the season do we have kassian on the fourth line the third line the 2nd line or maybe playing on the first with the sedins i think we should give him a chance with kesler and booth

On my iPod right now but I believe the reporter was interviewing Kassian as they were driving across a bridge and the reporter asks if the scenery makes him realize that Vancouver is one the best cities to play in. Kassians response sounded really sarcastic IMO. He was like "Oh yeaah, everytime i cross this bridge i think how much i love Vancouver ..."
