Complete turnaround by SWE 2nd League Hockeyallsvenskan, which now allows locked out NHLers to sign short-term deals. #nhl

How short? Like week-to week?

I'm saying Aladeen a lot because http://forum.canucks...dpost__10922428

I bet when Schneider turns 38, he will have broken all of Luongo's records.

I don't like it.

Locked out NHL players shouldn't be flying around the world displacing other guys from their jobs.

Agreed. What happens to all those players who would be there normally? They just don't get to play? Ridiculous.

One the other hand, the injetion of NHLers can drum up interest in clubs with little to none.

I know it's small potatoes, but Wade Belak and a couple others went to play in the UK league during the last lock-out and the league actually got press and people in the seats. If they hadn't gone the teams would have folded faster than they did. It might be better for the players to lose their playing time than to lose there jobs.

And yes I know that the teams and leagues elsewhere are better established than in the UK and it's not so much an issue, but this is just one example.

not sure if that has been posted but the KHL revamped their rules for letting NHLers play there.

The players for those teams are already under contract and will still have a job and get paid whether they're playing or sitting on the bench. In the meantime, for a few brief weeks or months that league will be invigorated with world-class talent the likes of which they've never seen, thousands of new fans will come to see the games (some of who will stick around after the lockout) and everyone will come out of it for the better.

Obviously you know how Swedish contracts work better than I do. I was worried guys would get cut or demoted in order to make room for NHL players.
