As per club policy, terms of the agreement were not disclosed. Machacek, 23, played in 13 games with the Winnipeg Jets last season. In that time, he recorded nine points (2G, 7A) and seven penalty minutes. He scored his first NHL goal on Mar. 23/12 in Washington against the Capitals (4-3OTW). The Lethbridge, AB native also appeared in 61 games with the St. John’s IceCaps of the American Hockey League. He recorded 50 points (18G, 32A) and 48 penalty minutes. He lead the IceCaps in points (50), shots on net (166) and tied for second in assists (32). Machacek has played in 25 career NHL games between Atlanta and Winnipeg for nine career points (2G, 7A) and seven penalty minutes. Hopefully his production in the 10 games he got last season wasn't a fluke and he can become a talented 3rd liner with some time on the 2nd line. No word on the terms of the contract yet.
