...Offensive upside is still to be determined as his hockey sense is only average...Not the best passer...Tends to be too stationary in the offensive zone and has trouble finding open ice...

2013-14 KHL Playoffs: 13-0-0-0, -1

...The quickest defenceman in the draft without a doubt...Has the ability to skate the puck out of trouble...Very sound in his own end, but prefers to use his intelligence and stick over making punishing hits despite having incredible strength...Fearless; typically the first player to go into a corner and retrieve a dump-in...Passing is average, but has a fairly dangerous slapshot...

...Went pointless in 38 games against pros (albeit with limited minutes)...Offensive awareness and hockey sense are below average...

Projected career role: Skilled defensive defenceman, #2-3 potential

==========

...Somewhat easy to knock over despite his projectable frame...Not a particularly physical player given his strength...Sometimes gets lost defensively...faceoffs ability is below average...Doesn’t play as aggressively as he should or could...

Projected career role: Power forward, top-6 potential

ETA: 4-5 years

==========

18. Michal Magnusson

Position: C/LW

Height: 6’5”

Weight: 183 lbs

Nationality: Sweden

2013-14 (Timra J20): 36-47-53-100, +60

...Put up arguably one of the greatest performances in the history of the Swedish junior league...A wonderful skater who could give Alexej Tikhonov (Ranked #8) a run for his money...Possesses elite acceleration, speed, and balance that makes every player on the ice look like they’re playing in mud...Has a lean body but surprising strength...Is a dynamic package that merges spectacular hockey sense and an NHL-ready offensive game (Shot, puckhandling, passing)...A faceoff specialist to boot...Could very well challenge for the top-3 pick...

...A direct transition to the NHL is questionable as he has yet to play against adults...Fitness/stamina is a definite concern...Mostly a perimeter player despite his physical gifts...

Projected career role: Dynamic two-way forward, top-line potential

ETA: Immediate-1 year

==========

19. Andrej Kryukov

Position: RW

Height: 6’0”

Weight: 176 lbs

Nationality: Russia

2013-14 (Spartak - KHL): 49-4-5-9, -4

...Another fantastic skater in the mold of Tikhonov/Magnusson...Has embarrassed many a defencemen with his one-on-one moves...Is the kind of player who is capable and confident of his ability to dangle an entire team, go back, and do it again...Can play some defense, though not naturally inclined...Has excellent focus, concentration, and an professional attitude thanks to his stint in the KHL...

...Not an effective finisher despite all that speed and talent...Has been labelled as a ‘selfish’ player by some because of his tendency to want to try and take on a team singlehanded...Rumored to have been given a massive offer by a KHL team to remain in Russia...

Projected career role: Elite forward, top-line potential

ETA: 2-3 years

==========

20. Bohus Mikus

2013-14 (Bardejov - Svk 2nd Division): 30-22-26-48, +16

...Probably the most experienced ‘pro’ draftee in the first round, having spent the entire season playing on mens teams in Slovakia’s professional circuit...Is a speed demon who can really turn on the afterburners...Almost impossible to knock him off the puck...Fairly well-rounded in all aspects of the game...Plays a highly aggressive game and is adept at forcing turnovers during a forecheck...Very mature, hard working, and professional player...Already wears a letter as an 18-year old for his mens club...high offensive awareness...Great checker and hitter...Equally adept at distributing or firing the puck...

...Incredibly frail at 158 lbs...Major concerns about the wear and tear he would go through in an 82-game NHL season...

Projected career role: Elite two-way forward, top-6 potential

ETA: 1-2 years

My impression was that UMB and Yakupov were both doing rankings based on NHL13 (UMB with N.A. players, Yakupov with Euros), and I was doing the EHM thing. If it's like that, then this is going to be a big draft class...Whoever has the most picks is going to have a blast.

So can we have UMB.Chimon and Nail all come up with a draft class that is combined to avoid some confusion ???

PS CHimon this is who i was talking about. From a earlier report, his name is Adam Roberts..

1. Sam Reinhart - C - [sNP] 11/06/95 6'2/187 - R

2. Aaron Ekblad - D - [OFD] 2/7/96 6'3/207 - R

3. Jake Virtanen - RW - [PLY] 8/16/96 6'0/180 - R

4. Adam Roberts - D - [DFD] 1/14/96 6'9/235 - L

Eh, you guys/SOB decide. If you want intersperse players from Yakupov/UMB's rankings into the EHM list then go ahead. I don't know how to rank players from different systems relative to each other, especially when I don't know much about the players on Yak's list.

What I had originally planned - since we know little about the '14 prospects I had planned for this:

Nail Yakupov combs through the whl, ohl and qmjhl bantam/midget drafts

Chimon does a simulation on EHM, posts the 2014 draft rankings

I will do the european rankings on NHL 13, as well as add a list on the chl for secondary reference
