The Red Wings are ecstatic to have acquired a great veteran in Patrik Elias! His two Stanley Cup rings speak tremendously about his leadership and consistency throughout his career and he is a tremendously underrated player. Zajac's offensive numbers haven't been too impressive since his arrival in Detroit but we think reuniting him with a former Devils teammate will give him a boost as they had good chemistry together.

Detroit Red Wings

Benn - Stastny - Oshie

Elias - Zajac - Wheeler

Comeau - Koivu - Brunette

Thompson - Lapierre - Clowe

Nice to see that teams are no more than 8 points out of a playoff spot, makes for an exciting second half of the season

Trade Announcement:

To Posted Image: F Patrik Elias

To Posted Image: F Alexander Radulov, F Brad Richardson, F Ryan Spooner, 2015 DET 1st Round Pick

Patrik Elias deserved to go to a team that has a shot at winning the cup.

I am hoping that Radulov plays to his full potential on a line with Ilya Kovalchuk. The 1st round pick means that the Devils will have 4 1sts over the this season and the next.

Wow, A 3-2 victory where Bergeron picks up two goals and then a 7-3 rout of New Jersey where Bergeron potted a hatty and added assist!

Leino wi his first goal as a Bruin!

Bergeron 5 goals in 2 games, wow!

Galchenyuk with 3 points in 2 GP since his return to the Griffins. Hopefully he'll continue to have success at that level and be ready for full-time NHL work next season.

Bergeron is on pace for 49 goals and 100 points! Maybe he'll become the first Bruin to pot 50 goals, and also the first Bruin to pot 100 points in many, many years! Zetterberg never put up 100 points...

Keep in mind when sending contract extensions

- Give reasoning why player x should remain with your franchise
- Provide an initial contract offer
- Provide what role they are expected to play
- Players will not like being lowballed
- Players may not accept your original offers
- Lowballing notable RFAs may cause them to hold out
- Not all players will want to remain with their team, I try to put myself in the head of the player when doing negotiations (that being said, not every player is going to want to test free agency either, for they would prefer to remain where they are)
- I will only be allowing contract extensions for players who are entering free agency at the end of THIS season
- Most important of all, MANAGE YOUR CAP! I highly reccomend you not spending every last penny, $ space to be able to call up a player pending injuries.

This is not directed at anybody, I have yet to read or go through any contract extensions, but I will be getting to them this week.

Can someone please find me the contract signing for Jaromir Jagr? I am terrible at searching through the threads, and the search button doesnt work for me, half the time it doesnt even show up.

Something tells me he shouldnt be making the league minimum

I got the Wild under the cap by waiving Greg Zanon and Brent Sopel, but it didn't go through.
