The cap hit is calculable as such

Plyrs 25 & Under - 1/3 of their remaining deal over twice the years. If you bought out a 24 year old making 1.5m with 2 years left, you'd have a hit of 250K over 4 years (the total value being 1/3 of the remaining 3m, divided by twice the remaining years, 1m/4)

If they're over 25, the only change is that it's 2/3rd of the deal over twice the years. Same scenario, he'd just get 500K for 4 years in dead cap.

We obviously shouldn't let our stars go that would just be not wise. But be a gm mode is missing that element of real life, of players wanting to test free agency. It would "spice things up" but It would also be unfair for the gm's who lose a star for no reason.

I think it's been resolved enough that we can not use words like stupid. It was an idea, it doesn't look like we're on board, let's just move on from it. Shouldn't be discouraging any ideas

Can you sign more than 5 goalies?

You can have a max of 6 signed on your roster, however, you can hold 45 skaters. If you max out your 45 skaters + 5 goalies then you don't have room for a 6th. You can't go over 45 skaters though, so basically the 50th position on your roster is a flexible goalie/skater contract.

Said it was a dumb idea, not stupid. Stupid has more of a negative connotation. And what can I say it was. Would have caused riots here if we were forced to let go of our stars even if we had cap so I had to be brutally honest.
