Here is what i would propose as the two-week schedule/cycle:

MON: NHL entry draft (you do not need to be on for this, as CPU drafts for you)

TUE: Re-sign phase

WED: Re-sign phase (2nd chance to re-sign players)

THU: Re-sign phase (last chance to lock up players)

FRI: Free Agency first day

SAT: July (offseason)

SUN: August (offseason)

MON: Pre-season and designate players to juniors/minors (waivers off for this section)

TUE: Sim first half of regular season to (41 gms)

WED: Sim to trade deadline (approx 61 gms)

THU: trade deadline (all day until 11:59 pm)

FRI: Sim to end of regular season (82 gms)

SAT: Rounds 1 & 2 of playoffs

SUN: Rounds 3 & 4 of playoffs

Thoughts? i think it is pretty similar to a few that have been proposed but a little more detailed

It will be fine during the off season as any players on one-way deals count against the cap, and will prevent teams from signing UFAs, but when the pre-season starts and teams can send people down, there needs to be a way to stop teams from sending players who are waiver eligible to the minors so they can go to free agency and upgrade.

The only way I can think to prevent this is, every team in the preseason needs to place their starting roster on the front page of the thread, If that teams signs anyone, they need to update that roster and the player kicked off needs to be offered around the league.

Its unfair that teams can just bury players in the minors to get them off their cap. For example, there is no way Ballard should be in the minors, yet Philly has had him there all season long.

Waivers is important, just EA screws teams by placing players on waivers freely without consequence.

I dont know how to solve this problem, but we need to have something like waivers if waivers are turned off. We shouldn't be able to bury contracts in the minors without having other teams able to acquire that player first.
