The Rask situation isn't a problem yet until Edmonton decides to bury him in the minors. But if he intends on giving him NHL minutes, then it should be fine for Edmonton to sign him for a 9mil contract for a year. It's actually a pretty smart move. It also prevents him from signing any other player because he doesn't have the cap space to do so. But if Rask was supposed to get a 2-way deal, then in the future we shouldn't allow GMs to give 1-way deals to prospects that should be getting 2-way deals.
