The league would like to announce the hiring of JP_2233 as the newest GM of the San Jose Sharks.

The Winnipeg Jets organization would like to welcome the new GM of the San Jose Sharks. Jets management would like to wish them the best of luck moving forward!

For the waiver situation, I think we should wait 24 hours and do a random draw. It makes more sense that way. It may be dicking around, but it's way more far.

If it was first come first serve, basically the people who are online at that time get first dibs. People all have lives outside of this thing.

Although, maybe I should make it first come first serve. If we are all in this sim together it makes sense that everyone should be checking on the league daily.

I agree, it should be first come first serve. That is how it is in the real NHL.

No it's not its based on who was worse in the standings, every team I believe has 24 hours then all the teams that placed offers the player goes to the team worse in the standings, not first come first served.

I personally would do midnight of the night the player was placed on waivers, and instead of random I'd go by the worst team in the league gets first dibs. If its before any games have been simmed than we use last year rankings.

If we do it this way all waiver claims should be pm'ed to the commissioner in private so that another team doesn't put in an offer just because they know a rival made a claim.

Thats fine the player and a 7th for a 7th.

About the first come first served approach, we'll let Trav decide. I honestly don't care either way. If we want to be fairest, we should wait for 24 hours, but then like you said we are dicking around. Either way, we just need some guidelines to follow.

I vote for the 24 hour approach and lowest-ranked team who claims gets him. If we go on a first come first serve basis then GMs can give other GMs heads up on who they're about to drop. Also 6OH!4 would have first dibs on pretty much every player. Because he's on here often, you see.

I do think though we should let the Calgary one with Gomez go through as they had to do a trade anyways. I doubt anyone else wants Gomez anyways

It won't work. First of all we have to hope the team placing the player on waivers is online at the time of the random draw, and the team wanting that player is also online at the time of the random draw so they can complete the trade before the sim. We both know this is a long shot. Second of all we're dealing with marginal players here. It's Scott freakin Gomez type players we're talking about. Who cares. Just treat it as a trade.

HAHA hardly. You can have 4th line plugs I don't want em. In fact if I'm online when someone places a player on waivers, I'll give him to you. There ya go problem solved.

If a team claims a player off waivers then he should not be able to trade that player until the next season.
This would prevent a claim and trade type thing.

yeah in NHL 12 be a gm the CPU would put a player with around 83 rating and you could just trade him for a 1st round pick lol

I like that rule, it prevents people from claiming and then trading someone.

We aren't talking about Gomez we are setting up a rule about every waiver for the next 20 seasons.

Gomez is a trade to Calgary for your UFA.

We need to have some sort of rule moving forward.

Waiver Rules:

If a player is placed on waivers, every GM has 24 hours to put in a claim via PM to the Commissioner. The team lowest in the standings will then get said player. This player cannot be traded in the same year you claim him.

I will not be waiting for both teams to make the trade for the claim before I sim. I will still be simming nightly. Try to get the claim done ASAP.

Since I made a trade with the commish (DAAD who is the Devils GM), he said that I can announce it.....

To Winnipeg:
- Mark Fayne ($1.3 M)

To New Jersey:
- Dean Suter (not under contract)
- WPG 2014 4th

Good deal for both teams..... The Devils were looking to move Fayne who had fell out of favour and was sent down to the minors and the Jets wanted a #6 right shot defenceman.

The Winnipeg Jets would like to welcome defenceman Mark Fayne to our organization. We think that Mark will be a very solid contributor now and for years to come on the back end. While he fell out of favour in New Jersey, Mark is now presented with another chance to make it work in the NHL, and he comes into a great situation where he has a spot waiting for him in the Jets starting lineup. We would also like to wish Dean Suter, one of our 2013 draft picks, the best of luck in his development as a prospect. We drafted him thinking he could become a great NHL player one day, and I am confident he has the abilities to do so in the New Jersey organization.

The Colorado Avalanche have agreed to terms with their Division Rivals, the San Jose Sharks.

To Colorado:
Marc-Eduard Vlasic ($4.2m)
Logan Couture ($2.8m)

To San Jose:
Matt Duchene (3.875m)
Colorado 2014 1st Round Pick
NY Islanders 2014 2nd Round Pick

This will also allow San Jose to be cap compliant, as the CPU had Couture in the minors.
