Could we still get Doan if the phx team folds? Be a win win for everyone... He stays loyal to his coyotes right to the end and then gets to play fit his 2nd favorite team

Well if the ownership deal fell apart and the team was on the brink of being folded, I'm sure Maloney could make a trade to send Doan where he wanted to go.

I wouldn't expect that at this point though.

If the team was folded, there would be a dispersal draft. No team would trade with Phoenix.

Team would never be folded it would be moved. A bankruptcy would try and recover as much on the assets they could get. Moving the franchise would probably be the highest return.

Would have loved to have Doan, but if he was really contemplating retirement, is that really a player we want to help us win a cup?

He's made it clear that winning a cup is not priority number 1 for him. His family and being loyal to Phoenix is. And there's nothing wrong with that, it's just better for us to get a veteran that's starving for a Stanley Cup.

I would like us to get a guy like Morrow from Dallas. Same amount of grit and is likely hungry for a Stanley Cup. A deadline deal for him may be what puts us over the top. The guy is still a presence in any locker room.

I wish he had signed with Van but respect his decision. He went thru a lot of stress in this whole process. As DeNiro said Morrow would have been a nice substitute.
