Yes.

But the CHL-NHL agreement was adjusted to allow players who played in the NHL last year; but are still junior eligible; to be assigned to the AHL

Regarding the OP.

That will happen ONLY if the full NHL season is cancelled, because the day the NHL is back - Eberle, RNH, Schultz and Lander will be in the NHL.

He is able to, but under certain rules he can also play in the AHL right now as well.

OKC yikes.....Paajarvi - RNH - Eberle
What is the deal with Mike Gillis, it always seems like he's sweating...

Hall hasn't been fully cleared to play.

Since there is no training camp, they can't give him the 'go' to allow him to play, thus they cannot assign him to the AHL

If they lockout for an entire season then sure, OKC has it. None of these players would otherwise be around for the April AHL playoffs.

I don't know

Houston looks pretty stacked as well with Brodin, Granlund, Coyle, Phillips, Larsson, Scandella and Bulmer

I didn't think Eberle could be sent to the minors. Could Hall be sent down as well?

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

I'm just going to spitball the Wolves lineup based on what I know of who was sent down and who is on contract with Wolves:

Haydar - Ebbett - Kassian
Miller - Schroeder - Doell
Gordon - Friesen - Sweatt
Rodin - Mallet - Desbiens
Ex. Tochkin, Archibald

Connauton - Tanev
Joslin - Mullen
Sauve - Polasek
Ex. Schneider, Andersson

Lack
Negrin
Cannata

Pretty small up the middle (Ebbett, Friesen, Schroeder all under 5'10). I didn't think Rai would make the team. Cannata is going to have to battle Negrin (Wolves signing) for the back up job. Other than that it's an almost all prospect Wolves.

Veterans: Doell, Haydar, Ebbett, Mullen, Miller and Schneider.

Well aware - I just wanted to point out the stackedness of the OKC team in its current stage and how Edmonton really is an AHL team :P

It's funny when your first line in the NHL is also your AHL first line.

Edler, Markstrom, Hansen, 2nd round pick 2014 to Islanders for Ryan Strome, 5th overall pick 2014

This is fairly even as well.

They didn't send Hall down because he would get injured.

Not would.

Is.

He is still on the IR; and cannot be cleared to play because there is no training camp.

Gaunce was sent to his junior club, and Jensen to his Euro club. See link.

Keep in mind that last season the Barons finished with a record of 45-22-9. They were already the second best team in the league. Even if they don't have Eberle, RNH, Schultz and Paajarvi for an entire season, they are still one of the favorites to win the Calder Cup.

All teams have added significant pieces...just because they have a couple more NHL ready, future superstars doesnt necessarily mean they're going to run the table on the league. It's still going to be competitive - just makes them favorites. No clear cut favorites by any means, because the Marlies look pretty good again this year too.

I think the Pirates could push as well - the top four on defense is sick down there, and they've got some solid* looking guys up front.

*solid meaning big and stable, not the slang alternative.

umm, if you sent the Sedins and Burrows to the AHL they'd be the Wolves' top line. Does this make the Canucks an AHL team as well? Moron.

Negrin's a defenseman. I'm thinking something like the following based on players' positions and skill.

Sterling Schroder Kassian
Rodin Ebbett Haydar
Sweatt Mallet Pinizzotto
Archibald Friesen Desbiens
extra: Miller, Longpre/Gordon

Mullen Tanev
Connauton Sauve
Polasek Joslin
extra: Andersson/Negrin

Lack
Cannata

Climie might possibly take the backup spot, sending Cannata to the ECHL team to play 60 games there (as Gillman mentioned in his conversation on going to Chicago for the Wolves' training camp)

I'm thinking the Bridgeport Sound Tigers will have quite the season as well. Forgot about this when I initially posted here but as today is the first day of the regular season for the AHL and a number of them did already impress, I thought I'd pop them down as definite candidates to win.

Niederreiter
Hamonic
de Haan
Kabanov
Cizikas
Nelson
Ness
Ullstrom
Wishart

Very solid in both forwards and defencemen
