anyone have telus satellite? No optik in my area and I am sick of shaw's high prices, crappy service and mediocre product

Telus satellite service is subcontracted from Bell.

Well my Telus bill just went up 10 bucks. Looks like I'm going to make an early morning call tomorrow (or later today, whatever).

if I want to switch from shaw to telus, any suggestions for negotiating the best deal I can? Is there a specific dept to talk to that can offer better deals? I can live with a contract if they offer a TV, but also want the 6 months promotional pricing.

Anyone know how to (or why the hell there isn't) a way to set a season recording for all Canucks games on your PVR? Can we get NASA on this or something?

i feel your pain, those first world problems are agonizing.

p.s. maybe its cuz most dcts/receivers don't process scheduling for programming past two weeks out or so?

You just made me realize I need to also post this somewhere important!

Also, that logic is no different than series that go beyond two weeks in length...

Telus custumer service is absolutely heinous until you call to cancel your service, then they bend over backwards to help you. No thanks. Cancelled them today in fact, man it felt good.

That's funny, I experienced the exact same experience and sentiment towards Shaw.

Of course! Mine was inexcusable though. My internet was down for 2 straight months and I was on hold with CS for a combined 8-9hours. I would wait an hour, they would forward me to someone that would go right to voicemail and it would hang up. When I called back I had to wait on hold again and explain my situation all over again. Finally after 2 months of convincing them my router was bad, they sent someone over to look at it, and I was right, the router was bad. They still billed me out for the two months.

Lol. Well Shaw just overbilled me a month and basically told me to piss off, so it's all relative. Jesus these companies are horrible.

For those who are saying Shaw is too expensive: How much are you paying? (if you don't mind me asking...)

I'm only paying 18 bucks a month(do have a minor discount though), don't see why everyone's complaining.

$18 is no minor discount lol. Everyone I know pays (minimum) $120/month with both Shaw and Telus.

Haha well that was stupid.... It turns out the 18 bucks was just the amount added to my service when I bought some new channels.

I'm paying 60 a month for TV only with Shaw; all the major hd channels + the basic sd channels (plus a few other channels I bought) . My internet is with Telus though, not sure how much it is.

Basic cable is actually a lot more expensive that apparently. If anything, my neighbours are stealing my wifi.

Hear Telus boxes are much more reliable. Shaw and Telus however monopolize cable which drives high prices

Over billed you a month? Just don't pay the extra.

If you're signed up for per-authorized payments, revoke it immediately. Never give a company access to remove money from your bank account.

Telus
Internet:25mb/s(thinking about getting 50 for 15$ more)
T.V:Essentials/Basic +6 packs I can choose(like sports pack,etc.)
Plus most of the channels are hd
Edit:Pay like $140+30 bucks for phone so like $170
Edit#2:I got a $500 laptop for signing a 3 year contract and I've had no problems so no trouble with the contract. I believe you can get a tv for signing up now
