interesting point of note: Westerholm is reported as Vesterholm on eliteprospects, not sure why as the official swedish hockey stats site has it as westerholm. the BIK website (which is the worst designed website in the world) has it as vesterholm, but his twin brother is listed as westerholm... so confused. I'll stick with westerholm until i hear officially which one it is.

Is Blomstand in pro or junior right now? That would suck if he got sent down to junior. Djurgarden got demoted...that would be like a player going from the NHL to the AHL to the CHL.

pretty sure its a translation error of some sort as I believe W's are pronounced like V's in swedish

blomstrand is playing in pro, basically the swedish AHL; if some AHL teams at the end of every season got promoted to the nhl and some nhl teams get demoted to the ahl. he played 1 game in the junior league before going to the main team.

yeah, it's just weird that different swedish sites have different spellings, and the 2 brothers get different spelling on the same site...

Well other than the fact that he's huge, 6'5" 200 lbs, and is a great skater. He's also a great playmaker and scorer.

The knock on him was obviously that he was an overager (he's 21 already). But he's pretty much just a typical late bloomer. Didn't enter major junior until he was 19. But put up solid numbers in two seasons, and was great in the playoffs.

Now he's putting up solid number in a pro league. He just needs to work on his physical and defensive play to become a complete player.

Thanks for answering my question. I wasn't sure if he started in the pros or in junior (noticed the one game in junior).

I am happy with Grenier's production, especially his +5 (best on the team). That Bischofberger guy on the team is only 5'5 130 lbs. He must look like a midget next to Grenier.

So what is the hype around Grenier? He is very much a mystery. He didn't start junior until he was 19 years old (halfway through the season) and was a few months away from 20 when he got drafted. He played Junior AAA before that in Quebec, came out of nowhere. The fact of the matter is he is a monster in size and has a lot of raw skill.

he's still listed on their roster (http://www.capebreto...am/56/sort/last) but hasn't played in a game yet. their other 2 goalies have played all 5 games... you'd think they would tr something different after having absolutely no wins in 5 games. maybe he's injured?

Haha I wondered that too.
But I thought we gave up his rights by not signing him prior to June 1st?
If I recall correctly he isn't a part of our system anymore.

yeah, i forgo to remove him from the spreadsheet. I'm guessing hannay probably got a game ejection plus a 10 min and then some fighting majors.

from friday's report:

RESTED RANGERS: Defenceman Evan McEneny (lower body) and forward Justin Bailey (concussion) did not make the northern swing to Sault Ste. Marie and Saginaw but are both progressing. McEneny should be back next week.
