Erik Karlsson
He's shaved his head and looks to be in A LOT better shape then last season. Almost looks like the Ovi from his rookie season. compared to Maybe he will get back his elite quickness and agility that used to make him so dangerous. What do you guys think? Pears
I hope so. Also I think he will be back to his old, dominating self since Adam Oates uses an offensive system.

Biexallent
Yea, he's back for sure. Guy is one of the best playoff performers/point producers and in the past 2 years, you could and can see it in him that he wants to win the Cup. Unfortunately, there is a lockout, but this Summer, he changed his off-season workout/training schedule and he says its helped him a lot more - more work, less slacking off. ....Mark my word, whenever the NHL resumes and if Ovie comes back, you'll see that highlight machine (Though he still is one) from 3-4 years ago. Jägermeister
I hope so, when he's on his game he is the most exciting player in the league.

EvoLu7ioN
The two pictures are misleading. He's hunched forward in the second picture. When you're standing up, you are less likely to look "fat" than if you were to sit down hunched like that.
EvoLu7ioN
On topic though, I actually caught the game and can say Ovechkin looked noticely quicker and more explosive, which would make sense if he has lost some mass which it looks like he has. He mentioned in an interview a few weeks back he was focusing on conditioning, range of motion, flexibility etc. this summer rather than lifting. Here are some clips from the last game. Common sense
For the Caps' sake, they hope so.
-AJ-
Impressive. If he starts having Sedin-like work ethic he'll be back to stardom in no time.

Rounoush
Since he signed a contract in Russia, he can't play in the NHL this season if the strike were to end, right?
Newsflash
Wasn't he really heavy in his rookie season too? The thing is, it's easier to carry around all that fat when you are 20. Not so much when you are 27. EDIT: According to his hockey team's website, he weighs 220 pounds. It also says he's only 6'2 though. Either way, he looks like he's in great shape.
