Clockwork Orange is the most messed up movie ever created..

Not even close. There exists movies that make Clockwork Orange look like Disney. Watch some foreign psychological horror or gore films and you will see some creepy messed up stuff.

The Thing (1982 original, not the prequel released last year) is the greatest horror/thriller/sci-fi movie of all-time. Bar none. It's a puzzle movie, as in you have to watch it multiple times, go online and read other people's theories, etc. to try and figure it out.

Try the original Hills Have Eyes as well, from the 70s. Low budget and extremely creepy.

The aforementioned The Descent, which I didn't know had a sequel!

Those are my suggestions.

As far as scary goes, I think the title goes to Alien.

When The Grudge and The Ring came out they were both very scary movies. I'll agree that The Mist is a really good movie and awesome ending but I prefer the ghost movies over monster and slasher movies.

I'm saying Aladeen a lot because http://forum.canucks...dpost__10922428

I bet when Schneider turns 38, he will have broken all of Luongo's records.

Do you have any ghost movies you really like?

I enjoyed Insidious, but that was more of a monster/ghost movie.

BTW I will also watch Bollywood movies, but no French or Spanish (can't understand when they talk).

I've seen the hunger games, but what on earth are you talking about? There's no such scene.

Hunger games as a horror movie suggestion, lol.

I was thinking the same thing.

I'm guessing that he's referring to the scene where the "dog" jumps out of the bushes at the two heroes...

In answer to the OP, The Exorcist, The Changeling and the Evil Dead for older titles. Another one that I really liked was 13 Ghosts.

Orland Kurtenbach and Dennis Kearns had just been torched 8-1 by the Habs, but they still took time to come out to meet us, some fellow BC boys who were playing hockey in Montreal. THAT"S what being a Canuck is!

13 Ghosts is one of my favorite horrors of all time. I'm also a huge fan of the "Halloween" series, particularly the older ones. None of this "Rob Zombie" remake garbage.

The Descent
High Tension
Cube, and Event Horizon (sci-fi horror)
Misery

but I mostly used to watch the "classics", like

Nightmare on Elm st
Friday the 13th
Halloween
Hellraiser
Creepshow
Tales from the Crypt
Texas Chainsaw Massacre
Child's Play

Some of them probably won't scare you too badly but I'd say they still belong in any essential Halloween viewing list.
This thread is making me realize for the first time how many horror movies I watched as a kid.

The Grudge was good, but I've seen it so many times now, it's lost it's effect on me. I've seen 1 or 2 Bollywood horror movies and they aren't the least bit scary. I agree Insidious was good, but it's a monster movie. People like to bash them, but the Paranormal Activity series of movies are pretty scary the first time you watch them.

Keep in mind I like to watch the movie once they're out of BluRay disc or DVD. Watching them in theatres kills the scariness for me. I watch them at high volume with surround sound. Makes the movies scarier. Plus it's a pitch black room and usually between 1-5 people watching it. Adds to the experience.

Cabin in the Woods. Fantastic movie.

Funny, and genuinely creepy.

Awesome movie, but it keeps cutting back to those controller guys and isn't scary as a result.

Also is The Women in Black any good?
Anyone seen the new Final Destination also?

Women in black isn't scary. Too slow.

Final Destination aren't really horror, more suspense. A few good scares in each movie, though.

The Women in Black is a cheap spin-off of Men in Black. The Woman in Black was alright, but it wasn't that scary and had a stupid ending.Haven't seen any of the Final Destination movies.

The Descent really freaked me out when I watched it in the right setting (it was dark, I was alone, etc)

But then I watched it later with a friend, at like 7PM, and it completely lost the vibe for me.
