I thought they closed down?

I thought so too, but the question was about the best food places you have BEEN to.

Anyways my vote goes to Romers, the mans man burger is just too good.

Baci and Osteri Napoli for Italian

Been to Baci twice, the pasta and steak I had there was phenominal. (It's near the intersection of Hastings and Boundary for those who haven't been; right near Anton's which has been mentioned).

probably the best food I ever had was at Kelly O'Bryans in Surrey. It's been closed for 5 or 6 years or so but that place was awesome!

In Van, Kobe's steakhouse is amazing, but also very expensive.

One of the best seafood chowders I have ever had was in a port restaurant in SanFran.

Personal preference I guess but Kobe's is overrated IMO. Lots of great steak houses around town and if you want Teppanyaki, you're really paying for show more than the actual food itself.

The key difference is that Sopel can fill in for Seabrook and Campbell just fine. Bieksa, he is garbage so in that sense he is like the worst defenseman in the league.

When Cody (Hodgson) gets older, he might be better than Datsyuk.

Let's not push this guy (Kassian). He's still immature, and if he fails on the 2nd line it's because he isn't ready. Some guys really need years to develop, it's how well and how fast players adapt to the game. In my opinion, I'd rather have Horvat getting 2nd line minutes. He will start off on the 3rd line next season but I see him making the transition, being a great compliment to whoever plays his wings.

At this point, I don't see Kassian fitting in to any role other than a 3rd. If players like Kassian start getting 2nd line minutes then we just stay inconsistent as a team.

Senova is absolutely phenomenal IMO. Zagat Rated and also they have cheap pasta nights on monday and tuesday. Risotto as well. But man is their pizza great as well as their "bread"...Their dip is phenomenal.

Highly recommended it. Seats probably close to a 50 - 70 at most.

I found Kobe really gross, over cooked and dry. The show was fun, the food was subpar.

How does Ebisu rank against other sushi places, quality and quantity-wise? I'm considering going there for lunch (do they have A.Y.C.E. options?)

Tokachi in Surrey. Best sushi I've ever had. Use to eat there on a regular basis many many years ago. Very nice atmosphere inside too. Very nice guys, assuming they still work there. Too bad they set up in such a poor area though; druggies, crime, cops. Whether or not that has changed, I have no idea.

The Red Door in Vancouver as well. I believe they changed it to something else, which I can't recall. My uncle and I were disappointed when we arrived there before going to the hockey game later. We love the Asian style food but we were equally impressed with the new place also.

I was in New York a while back, and, to be honest, I had a lot of bad meals from Chinatown to pizza but I was at this one place that was on or near 5th ave that seemed to be an Italian place that did sushi/sashimi. We were presented with a 3 foot tower of shaved ice with oysters, clams, shrimp, salmon etc and it was fookin excellent. Good thing I didn't have to pay for it.

I believe Ebisu is a sister restaurant to Daimasu, so the quality is similar. I haven't been there in a while but I don't remember an AYCE option (at least not for lunch).

If you're planning on going tomorrow (Sunday), I believe the Broadway location is closed.

It was over 3 years ago now, but I went to this Italian place in Burnaby. Huge portions and people were queuing to get in. And decent enough food.

Can't remember the name but I'd recognise it if I went back.

Anton's for sure. I live two blocks from it. Love it! Risotto is amazing.

Ouisis on Granville and 14th is phenomenal.
It's mostly Cajun and Creole food, they've got some weird stuff like Alligator Bites (one of the best things I have ever eaten) and even though I have never ordered them, they have some of the most delicious looking Bennys.

I can vouch for Pete's Drive-in in Calgary, it's worth the wait in line. If it's steak your looking for in Calgary, Vintage Chophouse is the place to go. For pizza nothing beats Coco Brooks (I miss the Egg and Bacon pizza).

In Montreal you have to go to Schwartz's Deli, non-negotiable.

In Kelowna check out Minstrel Cafe and Bar (nothing beats fine-dining and live bands).

In Van I fond am of the Granville Island Brewery.

Yeah, I'm guessing from the number of responses I've had asking if it was Anton's that it actually was.

I'm coming back across at the end of May. Might go there again if I'm peckish.
