Leafs get another #1 d man, a solid #1 goalie to help them make the playoffs, a mediocre defense propsect and a pick. To Van: Martin To NYI: Weise, Rodin and a 3rd Canucks get a great fourth liner Islanders get a fourth liner to replace martin, a propsect and a pick To Van: Sobotka To Stl: Raymond, 2nd, 3rd Canucks get a versatile third liner Blues get a good forward and a couple of picks Sedin Sedin Burrows Mccarthur Kesler Booth Higgins Sobotka Hansen Martin Lapierre Malhotra Hamhuis Bieksa Gardiner Franson Garrison Ballard Tanev Schneider Lack Impressive lineup. Tortorella's Rant Posted October 1, 2012 Share Posted October 1, 2012 I would rather have Weise on the fourth line and keep Rodin and the 3rd in a deep draft than have Martin. I think Lapierre can fill the third line centre very well and Raymond has value to us as a defensively responsible player. How can we trade our 3rd twice? gwarrior Posted October 1, 2012 Share Posted October 1, 2012 im pretty sure the main reason luongo isnt already a leaf, other than his NTC, is that jake gardiner is a non starter in trade talks with leafs.the other trades are a bit of overpayments on our part seeing as how this is susposed to be a very deep draft so id rather keep the picks. Smashian Kassian Posted October 6, 2012 Share Posted October 6, 2012 - Edler > Gardiner, I see the deal overall as an overpayment so no. - I would rather keep Rodin, I think he will be a better player than Martin, not to mention the pick in a deep draft. - I'm a huge Sobotka fan but those are two good picks, and I dont think there is a huge difference in value between Raymond and Sobotka.
