To Van: Gardiner, Mccarthur, Ashton, Franson

To Tor: Luongo, Edler, Sauve, 2nd

Luongo=Mccarthur,Ashton
Edler-Gardiner
Sauve, 2nd=Franson

Canucks get a dman to replace edler, a decent 2nd line winger who brings some toughness, a good prospect and another good dman to help replace edlers points.

Leafs get another #1 d man, a solid #1 goalie to help them make the playoffs, a mediocre defense propsect and a pick.

To Van: Martin

To NYI: Weise, Rodin and a 3rd

Canucks get a great fourth liner

Islanders get a fourth liner to replace martin, a propsect and a pick

To Van: Sobotka

To Stl: Raymond, 2nd, 3rd

Canucks get a versatile third liner

Blues get a good forward and a couple of picks

Sedin Sedin Burrows
Mccarthur Kesler Booth
Higgins Sobotka Hansen
Martin Lapierre Malhotra

Hamhuis Bieksa
Gardiner Franson
Garrison Ballard
Tanev

Schneider
Lack

Impressive lineup.

I would do the first one but only if Edler absolutely i not going to re-sign here.

we overpay by a bit in the second deal so i wouldn't do it

in the third deal we also overpay a bit.

To Van: Martin

To NYI: Weise, Rodin and a 3rd

I would rather have Weise on the fourth line and keep Rodin and the 3rd in a deep draft than have Martin.

To Van: Sobotka

To Stl: Raymond, 2nd, 3rd

I think Lapierre can fill the third line centre very well and Raymond has value to us as a defensively responsible player. How can we trade our 3rd twice? And that 2nd could land us a very good player. I like Sobotka but we don't need him desperately.

Martin = LEAGUE leader in hits last year

I don't think people understand this. Martin isn't just an average 4th liner. He was the LEAGUE leader in hits last year.

Martin >>>>>>>> Weise

Overpayment in the first.

I like the 3rd one.

People get it. He's still a fourth liner and he makes $1M. He's not so amazing that we'd trade Weise, Rodin and a 3rd for him. Weise is still good as an all around 4th liner and does well defensively for less.

The thought of trading Toronto a franchise goalie and a potential franchise d-man that we spent years developing is too much....

I would take Martin in a heart beat. I've been big on this kid for a long time now. It's players like this the Canucks miss out drafting and end up regretting it. He led the league in hits last year, is younger than Weise and had 15 fighting majors (isn't the best fighter in the world though). I like Weise, but yeah, I would definitely take Martin. It would be ideal to have both of those guys on the fourth though

Easy price to pay if it is projected that Rodin never becomes much more than a fringe NHLer.

Martin >>> Weise
Not even a competition.
Rodin + 3rd would be a pretty fair addition for the Islanders to even consider that trade.

I wouldn't do the other 2 though.

im pretty sure the main reason luongo isnt already a leaf, other than his NTC, is that jake gardiner is a non starter in trade talks with leafs.the other trades are a bit of overpayments on our part seeing as how this is susposed to be a very deep draft so id rather keep the picks.

- Edler > Gardiner, I see the deal overall as an overpayment so no.

- I would rather keep Rodin, I think he will be a better player than Martin, not to mention the pick in a deep draft.

- I'm a huge Sobotka fan but those are two good picks, and I dont think there is a huge difference in value between Raymond and Sobotka.
