Samk
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has chosen a new face to host the 2013 Oscar ceremony – actor and producer Seth MacFarlane. The voice actor and creator of Family Guy and American Dad will be making his first appearance on the Oscar stage. The 85th Academy Awards are scheduled for Feb. 24, 2013. Telecast producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron called MacFarlane “the consummate host” and said “his performing skills blend perfectly with our ideas for making the show entertaining and fresh.” It’s a choice geared to attract the young audience Academy Awards organizers are anxious to cultivate. He follows on a 2012 Oscar ceremony hosted by veteran Billy Crystal and a 2011 gala hosted by a distinctly disappointing James Franco and Anne Hathaway. Though best known for comedy, MacFarlane is also a singer and has some hosting credits. He hosted Saturday Night Live in September, drawing praise for his skits and his voice imitations. He also has performed live on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and at New York's Carnegie Hall and earned two Grammy nominations for his pop album Music Is Better Than Words. This summer, he made his debut as feature film director with Ted, which he also wrote and produced. MacFarlane was creator of animated series Family Guy and co-creator of American Dad and The Cleveland Show.

Gustavo Fring
What Hobble said is the truth. Im actually looking foward to it. Seth Macfarlane was hilarious when he hosted SNL. His Ryan Lochte impersonation was spot on.
Monty
Not a fan of Family Guy, but have really grown to appreciate American Dad. Was very impressed with his SNL hosting last month, so I think this Oscars maybe somewhat watchable. But still probably not.

Sharpshooter
Love Seth, will watch the opening monologue at minimum, before ignoring the rest of the show until Best Picture.
GLASSJAW
not my brand of humour at all. but there are a lot of good (looking) movies coming out over the next few months, i'm sure the oscar race will be interesting. hopefully Lubezki will get nominated for cinematography again, and this time actually win. he got robbed last year. i don't even care how bad the new Malick movie is supposed to be, this guy is about as due for the award as Scorsese was before his embarrassing sympathy wins for The Departed

Jai604
To be fair, Meg isn't nerdy, Stewie is a much more developed character than Maggie, and Brian acts like a person rather than just a dog. And the lazy, overweight husband and nagging wife have been the center of sitcoms for generations. That said, if Steve Jobs had created Simpsons, MacFarlane would have been sued already. Jägermeister
He's pretty funny, he'll probably do a great job. But I hate award shows, not my cup of tea.
Ghostsof1915
Man, that is an epic roast of Sheen. I think that would sober you up more than anything else. And the winner for Best Picture, Ted! Thanks and goodnight!
