Damn I hope this guy can get back to his top form and even higher... He's still my favourite player on the Canucks, true work horse, hardest working guy I know and in my opinion, captain of the Canucks.

I guess if we can spin the lockout, at least it forces Kes to rest.

He always comes back before he's fully recovered so I really hope he takes it easy this time and heals properly.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

Trainers are hugely responsible for this. As a trainer they should know when players are ready to go on the ice 100%.

Everybody knew by watching Kesler that he didn't have it. Yet instead of shutting him down and thinking about his and the teams future, the regular season was more important.

We have the stupidest coaching staff and trainers in the league.

Also, no Hodgson so whose gonna replace Kesler? Kassian? Posted Image

Well if he's out till January and he comes back at 100% then all to him. The guy is hugely important to the Canucks, filling in his spot is going to be fun.

Personally, I don't think he'll ever be the same player. Hip surgery, wrist surgery, shoulder surgery...just seems like he's beat up all the time. Hopefully he comes back 100% and can become that dominant player we saw during "the year that shall not be named"....but, in my opinion, it doesnt look promising.

Here's to hoping I'm wrong! :towel:

Watch Bowness somehow mess up Tampa Bay's already amazing 2 powerplay units...he'll probably tell Stamkos to do drop passes from centre ice, take him out from the faceoff dot, and place him infront of the goalie

Seeing as the season is in jeopardy and if it does start won't be until January...this ain't all that bad. I hope he heals up quick too.

He's a key piece on the team but I'd argue the 'captaincy' issue - I know this has been beat to death, but I just can't see Kes being the captain.

He plays hard and can lead on the ice - but it's his off-ice manners that don't do it for me.

He's a big whiner (yes get over it) and he dives quite a bit. This and his arrogance (can be a good thing!) doesn't lead me to believe he'd make a great captain for this team. Just my 2 cents

Get well soon Kes! #beastmode

wont matter..... both the NHL and the PA are counting on the other side to cave right now, and neither are willing to compromise... i highly doubt there will even be a season at all

Why do people on this forum give up on our players so easily?

Honestly, if you are truly a fan, then give them the benefit of the doubt. At least let him prove whether he can bounce back instead of just writing him off so easily.

I still believe in Kes :towel:

It's bad that he would have been out until January. I personally don't think there will be a season anyways. Nothing to see here boyz.

Players Nikolaj Ehlers have been compared too by the fan base of the Vancouver Canucks.

1 Pavel Bure

2 Markus Naslund

3 Nathan Mackkinon

5 Jonathan Tavares

It's actually a blessing in disguise that the season most likely won't start till Jan then.. Although, it won't give Schroeder a chance to play in Kes' stead, which I'm sure a lot of people were some what looking forward to.

I still would love to see Arnott center our 3rd line though! Can't wait to see if Gretzky's prediction (Of the season starting Jan) will come true! :P Def gonna be an interesting season this year, if it does happen.

"It's an opportunity, we don't look at it as a last chance... We look at it as an opportunity to do something great. We are going to take it period by period, shift by shift. You just have to be better than the guy across from you... Every guy in this locker room I can say believes we can do this." - Ryan Kesler

Nobody is writing him off, Serious injurys are hard to recover from and especially when you have had multiple serious injurys already thats just reality .

The problem when predicting healing times is that you have to factor in that there's stuff that needs to happen after the healing is done.

Like working out the muscle to build it back up, and get a players conditioning back up. That's why even though they predicted December, it likely wasn't ever going to be until at least January.

If the season does start sometime pre-December (which I doubt it will), seeing Schroeder seize his opportunity would be pretty awesome. The kid has all the tools, he just needs to put them together.

Its almost kind of funny how shortly after the lockout is announced, his recovery time increased as he is being paid full salary. Just sayin.
