There is some talk among media circles of the potential for NHL team owners to recruit scabs to play for their teams this season.

I wonder.... who would you want to see playing in a Canucks uniform this year (aside from the regular team)? I wouldn't mind seeing Jiri Slegr get pulled out of retirement!

"Hey, hey you little forest creatures. None of you sons of %!&&#@$ try to be heroes. You hear me? Whoa, hey everyone, this is Gary the squirrel. Listen up, Gary's been a long time friend, we've been skating for two and a half years. I remember when we were hanging out on the bus stop in Tuscon and Gary said, "Hey, I've got a third ball." [pukes in costume] I just threw up in here people, that' the reality. Another layer to the legend. I am nothing but a human onion. In fact we all are - hold on." [pukes again]

Won't happen. As least not here - its illegal in BC.

http://slapshot.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/10/07/n-h-l-replacement-players-illegal-in-two-provinces/?smid=tw-nytimesslapshot&seid=auto

"Two provinces have laws that make it illegal for employers to hire replacements for locked-out or striking workers. In Quebec in 1977, Premier René Lévesque enacted labor laws banning replacement workers. And in 1993, British Columbia outlawed the use of replacement workers."
