Man, Chicago was stacked in 2010. Their 4th line is especially stupid. I mean, that would make a damn good 3rd on most teams (and is probably better than Toronto's 2nd :bigblush: )

I gotta go with Anaheim 2007:

Neidermeyer
Pronger
Selanne
Perry
Getzlaf
Kunitz
Giguere

I think they beat any of those teams with the way Giguere was playing.

Totally forgot about Anaheim. That first D pairing they head was monster though

Pittsburgh from 2009 wins just for having Crosby, Malkin and Staal not to mention Gonchar, Letang and Goligoski on defence and Fluery in net.

Actually on second thought I think that Detroit team has to win, every single person is either in the Hall of Fame or will be soon. That's amazing.

Not even close, but I can see people saying that because both teams beat the Canucks to go on and with the Cup, and people can't accept the Canucks just weren't good enough when it counted.

Detroit in 2002 has it for me.

1. Detroit
2. Colorado
3. Anaheim

Detroit and Colorado had a ton of future hall of famer's on those teams, Anaheim played amazingly and had a ton of forward depth to go with a lights out goalie

Those Detroit and COL Cup teams before the salary cap were stacked. I go with Detroit. They were the best team I've seen in my lifetime besides the 80's Oilers.

2002 Detroit easily. Current and future Hall of Famers everywhere.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

Detroit '02 or Colorado '01. Both those teams' rosters were packed with HHOFers. Chicago, Los Angeles, etc. will be lucky if one or two of their players make the Hall.

Detroit and Colorado. They were really stacked, although many of the players were past their prime, they were still good.

No. Just no. Detroit beat these guys in 2008 and would have done so again in 2009 if they were actually given a few rest days between the WCF and the SCF.My vote goes to the 2002 Detroit Red Wings - 116 pts, President's Tropy, and Stanley Cup. Just a completely stacked team. Although I think the 2007 Ducks would have given them a run for their money.

Either Detroit or Colorado.....no way any salary-cap era team could compete with those two in a 7 game series.

Should probably do a pre- and post-cap poll. Not fair to compare teams of today to the purchased power house teams before the lockout.

You guys are kidding right? 2002 Wings and 2001 Avs would destroy any recent champion. The only post-lockout champion that would even come close is Anaheim.

Can people really only remember the last 3 years and nothing else?

Most of these guys probably started watching at the end of the WCE era.

Like people have said: you really can't compare a cap team to a team without the cap, the team without will win.
