I had an argument yesterday night

didn't realize that even though were there, it wasn't you

it was me, all along, all the pain, all the fights

were a result of all the abuse I'd gone through. ( I feel like this is either a) bad, or b: should be longer) :o

Home is not the residence where I reside,

The house that I live in now.

Rather;

Home is the place dearest to my heart.

Home is the driveway,

Where countless hours were spent,

Playing hockey, basketball and baseball,

With my friends as well as alone.

Home is the dazzling garden,

With the flowers who seem to be beaming,

With the lonely, branchless tree,

Where it stood, motionless.

Home is the maple tree standing tall,

Through the strong roars of the wind,

Through the tears of the clouds and the chilly winters,

Like a warrior in the dark.

Home is the rug on the floor,

In front of the portable TV,

Where many a day was spent watching hockey,

As well as playing my favorite video games.

Home is the couch by the kitchen,

Where often I was found curled up like a cat,

Spending hours reading book after book,

Pouring over the adventures of the story.

Home is the staircase,

Leading up to my room,

Where I spent early mornings,

Dressing for hockey practice.

Home is my room,

Where many a night was spent,

Looking up at the bright yellow, shiny stars,

In the dark, nighttime sky.

Many a night spent up late finishing homework.

Many a night where I rested; peaceful and merry.

So what exactly is home?

Is it the land you live in?

The place you treasure?

Need it be a building?

Home is that house by the school,

The best house in the world.

Where I grew up and lived in for countless years,

Where everything has a story.

The place I have the most memories of.

That place is dearest to my heart.

The house by the school,

Cheered me up when I was down.

Excited me when I was jolly,

Sheltered me when I was sleepy.

Though I no longer live at that house by the school,

Where I grew up in,

Where I have my fondest memories of,

It will always hold a special place in my heart.

As it will always be my home.
