I've watched this and last game. He has not been great.

He has definitely not been as good as Schroeder has. But because people have this wet dream that he's the next Lucic, he's the only one that merits attention, apparently.

You have proven time and time again that you know very little about hockey both on and off the ice. Give it up. He's not going to dominate every game, and we have every right to be excited for his potential, especially when he shows it.

Kass took on two NHL defenders in Leddy and Lebda to out muscle both.

I hope not, I would rather him become a Bertuzzi/Neely type.

Not a glorified goon like Lucic.

Kassian and Schroeder both stood out for me, Connaution wasn't bad either.

Just hopefully next game there's better quality or else the commentator's will actually do there job and tell me who is on the ice, and making the plays.

You strike me as the kind of person that just has to have a different opinion.

It doesn't matter how much you try and defend your position we all watched the same games, and we ALL saw kassian being a good player. Not everyone will be noticed for everything they do every time. Overall kassian has been playing very well, his puck possession is borderline sedinery at times, he works hard to draw in defenders and open space in the slot for smaller, quicker and more accurate shots to pick corners on the goalie. When he has the chance and room he uses his size to power through to the net, and he delivers earth shattering hits like the one we saw tonight.

If that isnt something to be excited about from a team that picks 26-30th EVERY year, I dont know what is.

fun game to watch from what i saw of it ..that longpre guy is pretty good, lack was solid until the third.
Kassian With a huge hit (the way the guys were talking i though he was getting the game) and then some solid work behind the net for like 20seconds then the feed to center and a goal.

solid effort from the team..
god i miss hockey this was the first game i have seen in way to long.

Heard Longpre's name a lot in the play by play before I got the video going, and the 2nd unit PP (Rodin, Shroeder, Kassian) seemed to have a number of good shifts. Joslin and Mullen seem to work well together and Connauton was definitely active tonight.

Didn't hear as much of Mallet after the 1st, he ended up a -1 (Andersson too) on the night so it'll be interesting to see the game summary from one of the Canucks bloggers and see their take on it if they were able to watch the game more closely.

I think Connauton was quite often the best player on the ice, and he was so dangerous looking on the powerplay. He reminds me of Ehrhoff, but with a harder shot. I can't wait to have him up in the bigs.

As for the rest of your post that I didn't quote, great point, I agree.

Jordan Schroeder ;)

Didn't get on the boxscore apart from a +1, but like I mentioned earlier, that 2nd unit PP were pretty good in the Ice Hogs end.

Connauton - NHL ready, no doubt. Used in all situations, 2 assists on the day.

Tanev - seems to be choking these last two games. 2 horrid giveaways today and deflected the 3rd goal against.

Schroeder - ABSOLUTE WATER BUG - this guy is so fast and works so hard. He's in the play every time he's on the ice.

Kassian - a little slow footed at times, but great play at the end of the game to out muscl Leddy and Lebda and pick up the assist on Sweatt's goal.

Rodin - could be softer than Raymond. He was replaced by Sweatt on his line.

Sweatt - upgraded to second line, strong play all game. Goal to top it off.

Lack - shaky at times, coming off a shutout, still played great.

Mullen - Injured.

Andersson - MASSIVE swede. took a bad penalty for interference but I think it was because he's just too damn big.

Longpre - give this guy an NHL contract, that short handed goal was a thing of beauty.

Usually the Wolves website will put some up, but that'll obviously take time to do the video editing and all that.

I wish I could have read the names, or the numbers, or had commentators that used the players names, because I only knew a couple players on the ice. When they said Schroeder or Kassian or Connauton's name I just watched them the whole shift so that I could at least know one player on the ice.

Much better effort overall. Rodin, however, will need to step up the intensity if he ever wants to make the NHL.
