i guess all you can really do is vacuum/steam vacuum everything, wash all of your clothes in hot water. if you vacuum toss the bag, or empty the container outside

for pest control, consider orkin. i hear they specialize in bed bugs since the DTES is a pretty filthy area

Thanks for your help. I will do the steam vacuuming for now, as well as washing all the clothes, linens and bags. Hopefully this problem is solved quickly, because it will be a nightmare if it gets worst.

Try to think of where you got them from so that you won't re-infest your place. Expect 0 sleep and lots of vacuuming. Unless you increase the temperature to like 50+ degrees...

This is one of the worst pests you can get.

Move to a new place. Leave everything behind, including the clothes you are wearing on your last day at that house.

If you like looking at statistics to determine who's better, you're just a casual fan.

2.41 season GAA isn't very impressive. Let's not get into playoffs and his SV%.

Cory Schneider is the next Patrick Roy.

Here is a clip from season 3 of Breaking Bad, with Mike explaining to Walter about his dealings with bed bugs:

ie, don't rely on what you get from this thread and hope what you do will be enough. If you're at all unsure, contact a professional and get that stuff figured out, asap.

Exterminator is the best bet. It won't be cheap but so worth it. Also did you buy your bed new or pick it up at the SA or Kijiji?

Don't know, it could be easily transferred from place to place. You won't even know if it is on your clothes. Could be workplace, a hotel or it could be someone that brought it into my house. Honestly it is pretty hard to pin point where I got this problem from.

I had my bed and mattress for a few years now and I bought it new. So it definitely isn't from there. I purchase all my clothes new from retail stores and I vacuum and do my laundry weekly.

Yeah, that is what I will be doing tomorrow. Does anyone know how expensive it will be? Like an estimate for cleaning a couple of bedrooms and a bathroom?

Man that sucks I feel for you. I believe when they come over for the estimate they will check and see how large it is. Hope that it hasn't spread further because it may be more than meets the eye.

Why would I burn a $1.2 million dollar house? Pay me $1.2 million dollar, then I will burn it down.

They are already in the whole house.

You can call a pest control agency or get do it yourself. Only difference is how much money you pay, nothing else.

You can purchase spray, hold breath, push button and get out of the room asap. You'll need a can per room. The whole house needs to be done.

Hotel business, very familiar with the process.

Crap hole? It is a recently built house (2005?) and is probably better than your house. Even a five star hotel can get bed bugs. Its not some shack in DTES. Anyways, what was the point of your comment? I mean, worst comes to worst, fumigation would be the last option.

As far as your bug infestation goes fumigation is your only choice.

Had this problem a few years ago, we took no chance and got it done by a professional, did not care about the price. Probably ended up costing a grand maybe? Only one treatment was needed,

I suggest you lift your mattresses and asses the problem, look under the cracks/lining of your mattress, under your sheets, everything. Check ALL your beds, you'll be suprised.

Also after your done, well this goes to everyone, buy covers/bags for your mattress that zip up so bed bugs cannot go in and hide, they will be blocked out and wont be able to re infest and hide without you knowing so. That too cost us about another grand or close to.(for mattress and the bottem box)

Its an investment that'll keep you feeling better and safer, and hopefully prevent it from happening in the future.

Get someone to come look at your house and give you an estimate.

Anyone can pick them up anywhere. Hotels, restaurants, bars, anywhere people gather literally. Doesnt matter how clean your place is. They arent cockroaches that live on filth.

I had them in my condo a few years back. Probably came from a hotel but who knows. They were in my bed. I took it all apart and used Green Earth brand Slug and bug insect killer dust (bought at Home Depot) on the matresses, bed frame and floor. into every crack and opening. Its a white dust. It is made with Diatomaceous earth (silicone dioxide). I put it around the base of every leg up to my bed so any bed bug not already in the bed would have to move over it to feed on me. I moved the bed slightly away from the wall so they couldnt arrive that way. The biting didnt go away 100% the first night but within a few days it was gone.I kept the dust around the bed legs for a year. The best thing about keeping it around the bed legs is that eventually every bug within your home will come out to feed from whatever cracks they hide in. They can stay dormant for up to a year and only come out at night and will move over that dust to get to you. they may bite you but the dust they pick up on the way will kill them shortly.
