If edler was resigned, Edler + 1st, but I'd much rather free up some cap space by trading away ballard and when malhotras contract is gone then try sign him during free agency

I'd trade Edler for Perry straight up,
then trade Lu to Hjarlmarsson or Leddy and if we're lucky, a pick too.

Resigning Salo and having Garrison would make trading Edler easier to swallow.

Could Vancouver afford to get Perry, without a doubt they could. But the question is would Gillis be willing to pay the price? This trade offer is likely the type of deal that would have to be made, and with the Canucks lack of depth at centre it wouldn't make sense. Anaheim would likely want some young top end talent like Lack, Jensen and Gaunce. But I don't know if that would be enticing enough for the Ducks and it may be too much for the Canucks to give up.

Great proposal.

Seriously though, it would probably take a Kesler/Edler, prospect, pick...

I would love to se Perry in Vancouver, but the only way i see it happening is if he doesn't resign with Anaheim and wants to sacrifice the big bucks for another ring. I can't see that happening. He will probably stay in Anaheim for the remainder of his career.

considering they will be free agents next year there value goes down unless they are signed or we get a conditional pick if they dont

i would say he would get somthing like the rick nash deal but not as much since hes a FA
1 prospect, 2 roster players and a 1st
Jensen/Tanev/Connauton, Higgins, Raymond, 1st for Perry. if he is resinged the price would be a lot steeper

Say Anaheim is out of a playoff spot (say 11th and 15 points behind the 8th seed) by the trade deadline and they want to get the rebuild started, would Booth, Tanev, Raymond and a 2nd be fair? Or would we have to add more?

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

That'll probably get declined. If the Ducks are trading Perry, they're gonna want some star power going back their way. Booth is a 2nd liner,Raymond is a 3rd liner (maybe), Tanev is still a gamble, and a 2nd isn't very appealing unless accompanied by bigger pieces.

Not even close.

If the Ducks are rebuilding, they're going to want young players, prospects and picks. Not overpaid 2nd/3rd liners in their prime.

If you really want the Ducks to consider then a fair price would be:

To Van: Corey Perry

To Ana: Alexander Edler, Zack Kassian, 1st

As a Canucks fan I wouldn't make this trade and I doubt the Ducks would be willing to pull the trigger and trade their former Hart Trophy winner; even for a solid package like this.

Edler doesn't have strong value right now.

He's a UFA at the end of the season and he is having problems with buldging disks. If Edler was an RFA and didn't have buldging disks then it would be a fair deal.

I think its a good thing you probably won't become a GM in the future. Like really, Kassian, Gaunce, Jensen, Lack AND two 1st rounders? Only Mike Milbury would be stupid enough to sell his team's 4 best prospects along with two firsts for a guy who could easily walk into free agency.

The Canucks have no A level prospects. It would then a larger quantity of B level assets to get him. Perry would also demand a greater return than Kovalchuk which was Cormier, Bergfors, Oduya and a 1st.
