Vigneault is the coach. So... neither.

Jensen will get the Naslund, Samuelsson, Grabner, Shirokov treatment.

Kassian will get the Torres, Bernier, Bitz, Oreskovich treatment.

In other words, who cares what your strengths are, it's OK if you don't score, pass, hit or protect your teammates, just get back and cover for the pinching D. There's only room for 2 scoring forwards and 11 penalty killers on Vigneault's team.

It really depends.

They play a different game, and thus, can't be judged the same way.

Who will put up more points? Most likely Jensen.

Kassian will also put up points, but his physical play, aggressiveness, and the ability to stick up for his teammates will make him also a very valuable asset. If he lives up to his billing (and I think he will), he will be the kind of guy who shines in the playoffs. We've seen Kassian perform well on the big stage so far (Memorial Cup, World Juniors), so there is no reason to believe he can't be a big-game player for us some day.

As others have said,

Jensen - Gaunce - Kassian

Could be one hell of a scary line one day, and kind of like a bigger WCE. Skilled sniper, Two-way centreman, and a Powerforward.

I like the looks of it a lot.

With the Sedin's and Burrows on the 2nd?

It would be great if Kassian and Jensen can help now while our top 6 forwards are still in their prime.

Sedin - Sedin - Burrows
Booth - Kesler - Kassian
Jensen - Gaunce - Hansen

Gaunce is still about 3 years away imo. Although Kass and Jensen are closer to cracking the lineup :)

I have no faith in Kassian. Jensen could turn into a good 2nd liner.

Are you still butt hurt from the Hodgson trade my God move on already. Kassian has all te intangibles to make this team better and has improved from all reports. Yet you have no faith? That's fine. When the season starts we will see Kass up here and show why there are a number of fans optimistic with his potential.

Don't worry Garrison not a lot of people have faith in you either. Excluding me. But to write off a 21 year old is absolutely stupid.

The key difference is that Sopel can fill in for Seabrook and Campbell just fine. Bieksa, he is garbage so in that sense he is like the worst defenseman in the league.

When Cody (Hodgson) gets older, he might be better than Datsyuk.

Let's not push this guy (Kassian). He's still immature, and if he fails on the 2nd line it's because he isn't ready. Some guys really need years to develop, it's how well and how fast players adapt to the game. In my opinion, I'd rather have Horvat getting 2nd line minutes. He will start off on the 3rd line next season but I see him making the transition, being a great compliment to whoever plays his wings.

At this point, I don't see Kassian fitting in to any role other than a 3rd. If players like Kassian start getting 2nd line minutes then we just stay inconsistent as a team.

Because he has already exceeded the CHL level, is ready to play against men and in the Pro game. and he is much better developed than we could have expected at this point.

Schroeder's speed and skill would complement Jensen and Kassian's size perfectly.

Hopefully though we find a skilled playmaking center to replace Henrik Sedin who is in his prime so he can help mould Jensen and Kassian's game as opposed to another young developing forward.

The funny thing is I am more impressed with Kassian's playmaking ability than his goal scoring ability yet he has 3 goals 1 assist. Goes to show how his linemates can't score. He has 30% of the team's goals. Hodgson has 7 assists but his team has 19 goals vs Chicago's 10. I think Kass could easily have 6 points if he was playing with guys who could put the puck in the net.

Either way this is looking like a win-win trade. Kassian is the type of player we sorely lack, whereas Kesler and Henrik should hold the fort down as the 1 and 2 centres for another 5-7 years. Elias is 4.5 years older than Henrik and he had his best season since 02-03 finishing 10th in league scoring. Ray Whitney is 8 years older than Henrik yet finished with the second best season of his career.

Three years down the road:

Sedin Sedin Burrows
Jensen Kesler Kassian
Gaunce

A year ago we were thinking:

Sedin Sedin Burrows
Kesler
Rodin Hodgson Schroeder

Our future looks much more balanced. We have size and skill now vs skill but no size.

Kassian and Jensen just remind me of Bertuzzi and Naslund so much, they look like them too lol. Schroeder kind of plays similiar to Morrison too.

You have no idea what you're talking about...
Hodgson is already a Bonafied superstar and Kassian is a grinder,
Seems legit

Jensen - Gaunce - Kassian

I can't wait for that line.

Sorry...I think you are mistaken on the actual line of the future for our club:

Jensen-Bjugstad-Kassian

(I believe that MG will get him eventually) :towel:

The great thing about all three of those guys.. if they all live up to their potential they are 1st liners and it would be a pretty feared combo.... picture the West coast Express with Getzlaf in the centre instead of Morrison.

More importantly, they are the types of players that will be solid NHLers even if they don't reach their potential. Each of them would be useful anywhere in the top 9 in the future. That is very different than a guy like Schroeder who is either boom or bust (likely bust IMHO).

This post is pretty silly, how can you have no faith in the kid when he had a monster offseason training and impressing in the early AHL season.
