So there is supposed to be one opening up in Fremont Village in Poco and I heard that it was already opened. I wanted to go there but couldn't find it anywhere. Does anyone know if its open or if it will be open soon?

I went to school with a couple of the guys that work there, and I've heard they say it's an awesome place to work because of the reactions of the customers.

If anyone who likes burgers has ever left there unsatisfied, I'd be very skeptical of their likeness of burgers.

Different.

Veras makes more specialty and restaurant style burgers. 5 guys makes really good take out style burgers. Basically 5 guys is a fast food style burger made with all fresh ingredients including unfrozen beef.

The only thing I had against the whole visit was I thought it was a little pricey for what you got. But still, it was a pretty great burger.

So it's not open yet? I guess the people who said they went there were talking about a different location. Couldn't even see though where it could possibly be.

I've been to the one in chilliwack. I wish I had just had a regular burger. I was not a fan of the cheese they used. The bacon wasn't fantastic either. The actual patty was great but the burger as a whole was a little disappointing and really didn't live up to the hype.

The patty looks like an ant in comparison to the bun.

All I know is that I've had some personal recommendations that the place makes AWESOME burgers and they've got pretty good reviews as well...

“The Rodeo Star burger at Romer’s was my education, and at $11, the cheapest tuition I’ve ever paid…..It was heartbreakingly beautiful, like Jodie Foster’s first glimpse of Earth from space in the film Contact.”
-Pieta Woolley, Straight.com
“If there are billions of burger lovers on this planet, very few are similar in their likes and dislikes — everyone has their personal preferences for condiments and accompaniments, and the kitchen at Romer’s fully gets that.”
- Andrew Morrison, Westender.com
“This burger was absolutely perfect. I ordered the “Man’s Man Burger”. Lightly toasted (to a perfect texture) brioche bun. Fresh, crisp veggies (even one yellow and one red tomato!). And the patty? Neither words nor pictures will do it justice.”
-Peri M., Yelp.ca
“..I have just found what was missing in my search for the ultimate burger. Softly toasted brioche buns. Romer’s has changed the landscape of burgers for me, there’s no doubt about it..”
-Crystal H., Yelp.ca
“Hamburger purists should have a blast with the sheer intricacy of Romer’s Burger Bar, just west of Burrard on Fourth Avenue. This kitchen doesn’t make burgers. It executes them, like some competitive, stopwatch-scrutinizing meat-loving geniuses, blueprinting and building each burger as if entering an exhibition..”
-Cassandra Anderton, www.martiniboys.com
“We’ve been hearing the buzz of the new kid in town- me being a vegan I questioned going to a burger bar- went with 5 other meateating friends and we all had this towns greatest burger!- Mine was the portobello stack- it was a portobello mushroom as the bun with a stack of layered grilled veggies inbetween- eggplant- zucchini-tomatoes- etc- my friends had very large delicous burgers- fat juicy patties- in between a delicious brioche bun- and one can also make it green by changing the bun to a baby head of lettuce cut in half–(they were licking their fingers)-..”

Where I live we have place that sell burger called the Redneck Burger, it has pimento cheese on it and has been voted best burger in South Carolina several times if I'm not mistaken.

What makes Five guys so amazing anyway? Seems like it's a standard ground beef patty, bun and whatever standard toppings you want. Am I missing something? Do they do something special I'm unaware of?

A really great burger place is splitz burger in whistler or vancouver. It's basically the subway of burgers, you make it how you want it. It is freaking amazing.
