Aladeen
Man this kid is playing some great hockey in the A. I hate to say it but I hope he turns out to be a Jason Krog, though I highly doubt that lol.

UFCanuck
Marc-Andre Gragnani has also been a star offensive d-man in the AHL since his rookie year. We all witnessed how he was at the NHL level. I'm going to reserve judgement until I watch him play against the elite.
Bodee
It's actually good for the Canucks if you wanna put a positive spin on it for us. The Canucks need teams in their division to challenge them to make them stronger for the playoffs. At the end of the season when we have all of our divisional play, the Canucks get lazy because they're not facing tough teams. Then we struggle in the first and second round because we face teams that have had to battle at the end of the season. Having a strong Edmonton team, a strong Minnesota team, and an up and coming Colorado team is a good thing. No more free passes at the end of the season. D-Money
Agreed DN but let's be blunt here.........by the time the Oilers rookies and prospects break out we might be struggling based on what we have coming through. I'm not saying there are not some decent players waiting in the wings but most will be doing well to get in the 2nd line ..............in defence and offence. Rey
Poor ducks. Fowler - Schultz Sbisa - Lindholm Gardiner - Anybody They would have been set for the future.

Rey
Even if he is the Finnish Ryan Ellis, it's going to be tough for him as a small d-man.
ConnorFutureGM
Justin Schultz AHL player of the month. Oilers' salary problems are going to hit before the current Canucks squad becomes ineffective. Starting next season, Eberle and Hall are 6 million each. The following year Nugent-Hopkins and J. Schultz. The year after that Yakupov and Dubnyk (and Klefbom and/or Musil, if they pan out). They're going to run out of room pretty soon, Chicago style. Rey
This lockout is perfect for the Oilers. They've spend a decade rushing prospects, and now they finally get the time to develop together in the AHL.
King of the ES
Once Luongo is gone, the only core players on the Canucks that are over 30 are Bieksa and the 1st line (Sedin-Sedin-Burrows). And the oldest of them just turned 32.
oldnews
Did I say that he would be a top-2 pick in this draft, or was I comparing him to an 18 year-old? No and no. So, no, you fail to make any valid point (again).
oldnews
Why so worked up? I just made the point that Oilers got 2 great young players, Nail and Schultz. I didn't even bring up Cody Hodgson or any other Canucks prospect. There is no doubt Yakupov is going to be a superstar. If you've been watching what he's doing in the KHL you know this. Schultz looks like he's not too far behind. Schultz was the 2nd most sought after FA Dman in July, after Suter.

Psycho_Path
And Schultz had another 2 points tonight. 15 in 9 games played. Still leading the league in points by 3 (next most has 12)

DownUndaCanuck
I know its a big jump from the AHL to NHL, and he's essentially playing on a team of All-Stars against teams of boys, but watching a defenceman put up 15 points in 9 games and lead the league is pretty impressive. Looks like as one of the great #5's on defence retires from hockey, another great is about to fill in his spot. That being said, the Barons blew a 3-0 lead with about half a period to play because of goaltending and defence. The Oilers may be able to score all they want, but if they don't fix up that back end it won't matter how many elite scorers they have.
