Why don't we just hand over the cup to NYR instead? With a top 6 of Sedin, Sedin, Nash, Gaborik, Richards, Callahan then the defense core of Girardi, Del Zotto, Mcdonagh, THEN Lundqvist in net...forget about it!

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

lol... I'd do it if you switched M.Staal for one of Del Zotto or McDonaugh. I think they're cup favourites now as is.

When I see any trade proposal lead with an offer of the Sedins, I throw up a little in my mouth.

We've really reached a new low. That was the worst proposal I've EVER seen. We'd basically be giving the Rangers multiple cups.

For everybody saying hand the Cup to the Rangers if this trade happens, how did the already very talented Avs team do when they had a top 6 of Sakic, Forsberg, Kariya, Selanne, Tanguay and Hejduk? Nothing is guaranteed. Sure it might increase their chances of winning a Cup, but u have nothing if the players don't have chemistry with each other

If we weree to trade the sedins to the rangers. Which btw would never happen. Then i would ask mcdonagh, kreider, stepan, a 1st. If we were lucky we would get that. I would prolly do it.

Sure nothing is guartanteed but why would we want to increase the Rangers chance of winning while drastically reducing our chances? Makes no sense from a Vancouver stand point to trade off our 2 best players while we are in a win now mode...

It's funny how everyone is ripping you but this is a pretty good deal. The Rangers refused to trade any of those players to the Jackets for Nash.

So 2 second liners, a top 4 D man, a prospect and 2 firsts for two superstars. This is something a rebuilding team would do, which we aren't.

The deal makes no sense for either party. Both parties are trying to win a cup, why would Vancouver trade two of the top forwards in the league for a bunch of players who might or might not help them ways down the road. Before you say Stephan and Staal can help us? Marc Staal is a good defensemen, but do we really need him on our d core with it being so good? Can Stephan replace Henrik Sedin... doubtful. That's like saying... Well trading Luongo to LAK for players like Voynov make sense, but they have Quick. There is no reasoning behind the deal, it's just throwing out names. Trades happen because they need to make sense for both teams.

is Vancouver a rebuilding team, sacrificing their cup chance for the future?

Thats a very good trade for Vancouver considering summer 2014 The Sedin could come back to Vancouver as UFA, after playing a single season with the NYR (if 2012-2013 is cancelled)

Well yeah. The opening poster must feel the trade increases the Canucks' chances of winning a cup by sacraficing the immediate future for a better near fuure.

The Canucks would be deeper now and better in 3 years then they would be without the trade. I don't think the Rangers would do this trade.

Does that mean the NYR would be weaker now and weaker 3 years in the future?
