stexx
Sounds like pinko propaganda to me! Honestly, I doubt Ovechkin is very in the know when it comes to negotiations. Why would the players who are working to get an agreement keep the players that bolted to Europe informed.
Squeak
So Bettman had a news conference to say that everything's going well? I wonder if he had planned to announce an agreement, but things haven't gone as fast as he predicted.

stexx
Aaron Ward @aaronward_nhl After the BOG meetings, NHLPA presented NHL with a proposal. next few hours will be crucial, will NHL bend on its redic contract demands or will they give something up and finally negotiate? johngould21
Yea, this is why people get so angry during these lockouts. Don't get too ahead of yourselves. There's no agreement yet. They've said that they were making progress before, and we all know how that turned out.

theminister
Why is it always the NHLPA making proposals? It just seems like it's a way to take more and more from the players without offering anything. Do we honestly believe that the owners are going to accept a players proposal after what happened with the previous ones?
Nas19
Owners are back to talk to the players about their proposal. The reaction here could make or break the season. Here's hoping it's positive.
johngould21
I think that at this point we need to consider that the two sides may have come up with alternate solutions to their differences that have not been discussed publicly yet. With the addition of the players and the different owners I expect there to have been a level of creativity that we haven't seen before.

DeNiro
So rumor is that the NHL wants this CBA to be 10 years in length? So no lockout for 10 years? It just wouldn't feel like the NHL without having a lockout every 7 years.

DeNiro
Players and owners now in separate rooms talking things over. Perhaps conferring with other owners/players whether or not to accept a deal?
