@TSNBobMcKenzie: Steve Fehr: "constructive day, best day we've had but still work to be done."

@Real_ESPNLeBrun: Steve Fehr and Bill Daly holding joint press conference although won't say much. Fehr called it maybe best day so far in this process

@DarrenDreger: Steve Fehr says it was a constructive day in some ways best day they've had. Daly says appreciate efforts of the players. Will meet tomorrow

@Real_ESPNLeBrun: Both sides will meeting again in morning, Daly said. With same group on each side

@jonasTSN1050: Fehr says today may have been best day so far. Daly offers kind words for players. Can't recall two sides speaking side by side before.

@DarrenDreger: Players completely avoiding any media attention. Fully understand. They believe the process has moved, but can't discuss the details.

@Real_ESPNLeBrun: Sources on both sides cautious but say there was traction today... Still a fragile situation but it's clear today was a good day

20th is late enough to have a 10+ day training camp. Maybe 3 preseason games, but it was expected with a shorter season that training camp would be smaller. All that means is we maybe start with a roster of 30 guys and work down to 23, instead of the usual 50+ marginal NHLers and risky tryout contracts.

Dreger just said Crosby flew to the mtngs w/ his owner Burkle. Considering there is a ban on communication between the 2, doesn't that seem strange?

I'm cautiously optimistic, but def sick of the double standards for 'some' players and teams in the league. It's really become clear who those players and teams are during this lockout. Bush league NHL.
