Canucks announce they will have cheerleaders.... for one game to start... on a trial basis they say.... the day comes... the fanbase is divided... the game starts... Canucks score an early goal..... the first tv timeout arrives.... and out march a cheerleader army of 50 gangly men in green spandex body suits... kacvan Posted November 2, 2012 Share Posted November 2, 2012 The word cheerleader and hockey should NEVER be used in the same sentence! It is blasphemy that the oilers have cheerleaders. Ice cleaners are another thing altogether. The ice cleaning team that the Canucks have now is classy like the Canuck organization there is no need to have women dressed in skimpy outfits on ice in CANADA. It is fine in the states where the NHL (no hockey league) needs to draw crowds but it is dumb to have this kind of think in Canada where the game was born and is beloved by almost everyone.
