Pure GM Posted November 6, 2012 Share Posted November 6, 2012 Two concerns regarding 2way and 1way contract proposal for Free Agency. 1. Does that not take away from the purpose of free agency - an open market 2. How will new members unlike us GM's who are highly active keep up with this rule if it passes? Though it is fairly simple to grasp, to many moving parts in the league may become somewhat of a deterrent if they feel they are working under th rules of the NHL, but continuously receiving PM's of another side non NHL rule that they didn't know about. In the real NHL prospects don't have gold stars stamped on their forehead representing their potential. No GM would ever give 9M to an unproven prospect. So he cheats his way to a cup by stowing players in the minors and keeping Jamie Benn 2/3 of the season then bails at the worst possible time without notice completely screwing over whoever takes Dallas next. dchan2579 Posted November 6, 2012 Share Posted November 6, 2012 Well I'm pretty sure part of the reason why he had Benn was because Montreal didn't have the game. Not much you can do there. And even if he didn't have Benn he would have had Plekanec who at the time was the same OVR as Benn, so I'd say he had the best team in the league and at the end of the day he won the cup without Benn so I really have no problem with it.
