Absolutely outstanding game between division rivals Panthers and Capitals in a coach vs coach matchup.

Final score 5-4 F/SO for the Florida Panthers.

The Panthers went up to a quick 4-0 lead early in the second, but Dale Hunter gave an earful to the team and the Capitals stormed back with 4 unanswered goals forcing overtime and eventually a shootout. These two teams hate each other and it showed on the ice. There were bodies colliding all over the place and scraps between whistles. The refs had several handfuls like a prostitute in downtown Vancouver.

Game studs on the Panthers side were Jonathan Huberdeau with 2 goals. One a deflection after taking a puck to the knee and another on a breakaway with a top shelf snipe. Sutter also helped with 3 assists. And Cammalleri with the top shelf shootout winner!

Game dud on the panthers side was Steve Downie who literally passed the puck back to the slot right to Chris Kelly who got the capitals their 2nd goal. That was the game swinging goal.

Yeeeeah! I made the playoffs, despite having a bunch of injuries! :P

Also, I am expecting to hear LA being disappointed. You barely missed the playoffs, and Ottawa had Kopitar, for which you got nothing back yet. There could be an argument made that you would have made the playoffs with Kopitar.
