Despite the injuries all playoffs long, especially to our D, we will continue to "bring it" every game to finally bring back Lord Stanley to the East since 2011; it's been a long 4 years.

Good series, lucky break in OT to win the series coming from behind.  Everyone has injuries and mine are pretty significant.

The Capitals are eager to face a healthy St Louis team.  Washington is the underdog in this series.

Injuries coming into the finals:
E Karlsson 90 overall - out since Round 2 - gone for season
B Manning 82 overall  - out since Round 2 - gone for season
K Beach 79 overall - out since Round 3 - gone for season
Y Weber 81 overall - Will be back for game 2

My defence has been decimated all playoffs long.  Lundqvist has been standing on his head.

The rental player E.Karlsson is a 90 Overall, that is just not right.Has there been a decision on the rental players as I see the poll is pretty much in favour of not allowing it.

Yes but Karlsson isn't much of an upgrade on Burns at 87. The only reason I traded Burns at the deadline for prospects was because I could acquire Karlsson on the short term to get me through this season.

If Karlsson wasn't on my team, Burns would still be. Either way I'm missing my best defender, an 87 or a 90 on my D lineup no matter how you look at it.

I am not looking for reasons why it was OK.
I am looking to have a ruling to prevent it from happening again.
A 90 overall is a top 10 player in the entire league.

The only reason I rented Karlsson was because I asked Edmonton if we could make the Burns for 2 prospects at the draft after the playoffs. He said he couldn't promise me that he could do the same deal. So then I looked at a way to replace Burns so I could make the deal happen and gave up a decent prospect.

I could've waited until the draft but it was more important for me to jump on the deal when it was available instead of losing out on two good prospects, giving up a decent prospect in return to fill Burns' hole.

And he was given decent compensation it's not like he just lent him to me. When Colorado rented Thornton off me it was for a 77 overall defender who could grow to low 80s, maybe 85 at tops. I gave up a guaranteed 82-83 goalie prospect for the same purpose. The only thing in question us that my player has remaining years on his contract; not the value going the other way.

The thing is, people are assuming I was the only team to benefit from this. San Jose acquired a decent prospect on a team with none. If I was San Jose I would of done the same. He needs to acquire assets anyway he can. We both benefited from this deal much like other trades teams do.

Like i said before, it really all comes down to having remaining years on the contract

I honestly don't care either way about the rule. We made a deal that was within the rules. If that rule changes I will continue to make deals within the rules. Giving up a first round pick isn't giving up nothing.

The BoG will likely be making the rule change but we haven't really talked about it in the last week.

Really the point is as Mack pointed out. My injuries on D actually do matter, Karlsson isn't an addition to my team he was a substitution for Brent Burns another high end defenseman that was moved for good prospects only because Karlsson was available.

It would be incredibly disappointing if the cup went East after my team finished 11th in the league, but 8th in the Western Conference. Pretty much any team that made the playoffs in the West would've been a #1 or #2 seed in the East :P

Lundqvist won me that series. If I have any chance at St Louis it'll be him leading the way.

They won the Presidents Trophy because the Eastern Conference doesn't have as many good teams.

Actually I think you have it wrong. In the West there are a bunch of good teams and a bunch of bad teams. The East is a lot tighter more competition spreads the points.

18 points separates 2nd from 13th in the East.
18 points separates 9th to 13th in the West.

No team in the west outside of the playoffs makes the playoffs in the East.

There is more disparity in the West, the East is much more competitive.
