The Capitals are eager to face a healthy St Louis team. Washington is the underdog in this series. Injuries coming into the finals: E Karlsson 90 overall - out since Round 2 - gone for season B Manning 82 overall - out since Round 2 - gone for season K Beach 79 overall - out since Round 3 - gone for season Y Weber 81 overall - Will be back for game 2 My defence has been decimated all playoffs long. mpt Posted November 19, 2012 Share Posted November 19, 2012 Yes but Karlsson isn't much of an upgrade on Burns at 87. The only reason I traded Burns at the deadline for prospects was because I could acquire Karlsson on the short term to get me through this season. If Karlsson wasn't on my team, Burns would still be. mpt Posted November 19, 2012 Share Posted November 19, 2012 The only reason I rented Karlsson was because I asked Edmonton if we could make the Burns for 2 prospects at the draft after the playoffs. He said he couldn't promise me that he could do the same deal. So then I looked at a way to replace Burns so I could make the deal happen and gave up a decent prospect. I could've waited until the draft but it was more important for me to jump on the deal when it was available instead of losing out on two good prospects, giving up a decent prospect in return to fill Burns' hole.
