Toronto now has the flexibility to sign a UFA to a substantial contract so that we can hopefully get a couple of these 60-ish $8M players off the starting roster.

Pretty easy to beat TOR when the third pair consists of a 61 OVR and a 56 OVR :picard:

Tampa Bay is rolling.

However, brief question. TB made a big trade a moment ago, and as part of it I want to burn through their games to make sure the big name TB has traded won't be injured before the sim. So they have 2 games, against CPU MIN (won, 5-2) and... Colorado lol. It's like the one time a year we play each other.

Anyone care? I'll watch from my Colorado account so I can't do something like 'pull the goalie constantly' and my DNF is at a wholly reasonably 7% (considering how often the Servers crash)

Yes? No problems? Like I said, primary concern is that I don't want someone to have paid a kings ransom for a player who might get injured for the season in this game

It's one game. If you did it without my permission, I wouldn't have cared too much.

I'm surprised I'm over .500 with all my injuries. 15-10-2 is a great record for having 3 top 3 out and 1 3rd liner out.

Stafford - still another 10 games
Kunitz - still another 14 games
Clarkson - still another 18 games
Osala - still another 5 games

The trade tracker is so messed up. I've tried to edit all of that crap out numerous times, it always goes back to that. I don't even know what to do. I think I'm just going to save it onto my computer, so if anyone wants to see it they can ask. Lol.

He's been kind of a disappointment for me, but at 2.075 for the last 5 seasons I couldn't complain. He's got the potential, but it looks like he learned from his brother.

Tampa and Colorado had another game against each other this sim, and I'm watching. Two things:

1) this is the opposite of a goaltending clinic. It's 3-3 6 minutes in. Terrible.

2) If this team is not playoff bound, and we'll know in a day or two, I recommend someone take Lecavlier. He looks great, and has a reasonable cap hit.

Also, Tampa Bay has traded a 2nd and a 3rd for Ortio, hoping to fill the hole in net. They are 9-4-2 since we started making moves, but considering that a lot of the D is young (Pulock and Lehkonen are pulling bottom minutes) I can't imagine it lasts all year, but that's fine. Tampa should be in a position to make waves in a year or two as long as I don't log in drunk at some point

Bowman just scored with 26s left. 4-3 after 1, Come on guys, you;re professionals.

I'm doing great!
20-10-4 record Vallerand is 2nd in the league in points and leads the league with 19 goals.

Howard is 10-6-2, .926 SV% and 2.04 GAA.
Visentin is 10-4-2, .934Sv% and 1.82 GAA.

Ugh. I kind of feel like Tampa could contend, but, like, FOR THIS YEAR ONLY. Couple real nice guys on that team for guys looking to go deep. Lecavlier, Purcell, Vermette are playing well. Aulie has developed well and has a monster shot.

The idea should be that if I can't build a team off trading Lecavlier, Vermette and Purcell, but I can make the playoffs, I go for the Cinderella run, right?

mpt, re: losing to Toronto, as soon as I saw that, I thought of an old Al Bundy quote

"Son, this is a very important game. The Bears are playing the Rams, and if you lose to the Rams, they throw you out of the league'

Minnesota really REALLY wants to give me Heatley. They've sent me a trade offer every period since the beginning of the season.

Latest trade offer:

To NSH
D. Heatley

To MIN
B. Leipsic (3-star prospect)
2019 2nd round pick

:picard:

Stupid computer, stop sending me trade requests!

What the hell, EA? I put Visentin to start this game, now it shows Visentin is the starter and M. Goncharov his backup. Goncharov's a d-man!

Yeah seriously. Look at the team you're icing compared to mine. I'm somehow 4th in the East even though I have 4 important players out and a defenseman playing on the 4th line. These players have been out for over a month now.

My team full of high 70's forwards is doing well. I think right now I only have 4 forwards in the 80's. Luckily Engelland is still playing.
