I was wondering, when celebs leave from Vancouer at YVR, Do they have to go through the same boarding entrance as everyone else? (The entrance near the food court) or do they have other/private entrances?

If they are flying on private aircraft they will be at the south airport. I'm not sure how it works with customs and stuff but it used to be they could drive onto the tarmac in limos and go directly on board. Not sure with the paranoia and excess security these days.

Not really famous but I sat beside Mad Child and Prevail on a flight and talked to them a bit, thats the closest Ive been to a non hockey famous person. Well on my honeymoon in Jamaica there was a big raggae festival and the hotel we were staying at was one of the major sponsers so all the acts were staying there. My wife and I were eating breakfast and Usher sat at the table beside us i didnt say anything cause he had his whole entourage there, but just walking around the grounds I saw Shaggy, Beanieman, Chris Brown and a bunch of lesser know artists.

Met a few famous people over my time, but not many.

Back in the 90s

- New York: Howie Mandel, Holly Hunter

- Winnipeg: Keanu Reeves. Also a few days later at a restaurant. Our family and him were the only ones in the restaurant, so he sat with us for the rest of the evening. Really nice guy. It was a year after he did Speed.

- Los Angeles: Hulk Hogan, Bret Hart.

Since 2000

- Vancouver: Michael Rosenbaum. Sat next to him on the plane. We didn't talk much. He cracked a bit of wise during the safety dimenstration though.

- Jerry Seinfeld: Thought my wife and I saw him driving away at the Kona Airport in Hawaii. Then when we got to our resort, we were sitting next to him and his wife on the beach. Saw him a few times over the next 5 days, but didn't walk up or say anything. He was on vacation and we didn't want to bother him. Plus we were on our honeymoon.

Chevy Chase caught the same flight as my acting class (he was in first class) when we went on a field trip to New York (going to see broadway shows)

i felt like a bit of a dick because I was the one that recognized him, and when we got off at LaGuardia everyone in the class was trying to get pictures and crap, and he was being pretty stand-offish, so our acting teacher went up to him and gave him crap, saying "they're young actors and look up to you", so he finally gave in and smiled and waved. But you could tell he wasn't smiling on the inside. i felt like a real dick lol

edit: this was like 15 years ago

Saw The guy and girl from Roxette at Heathrow Airport going through customs beside us. That was in 1990 when they were just hitting it big. The 2 happiest people you will every see. They went through regular customs, just the 2 of them. They were signing autographs and posing for photos with fans and everything.

My grandpa sat beside Boy George, which was probably funny because my grandpa is a huge homophobe

The closest I've come to meeting a real celebrity was running into Pam Anderson a couple times in Victoria. This was before the boob job was reduced, and without the camera adding the few extra pounds she barely looked human.

Ran into Leif Garrett at a downtown hotel in Vancouver in the late 70's well before he became a heroin addict, he was a jerk.

Met Stephanie Kramer in Vancouver on a movie set, she is the dark haired babe in the old tv show Hunter. she was a sweetheart,

I work at the airport and I know that many "celebs" do not travel on private jets. They are too darned expensive.

I have had to deal with: Samuel L. Jackson, Paris Hilton, Markus Naslund, Alex Edler, Mats Sundin, Christian Ehrhoff, The Sedins, Ryan Kesler, Billy Bob Thorton, Steven Seagal, Michal Buble, Jessica Alba, 50 Cent, Quentin Jackson, Snoop Dogg, Halle Berry, Robert Downey Jr.

That's all I can come up with right now.

wait a minute. you are saying that Paris Hilton, Steven Seagal and Samuel L. Jackson ARENīT FLYING PRIVATE JETS?! WTF!

like. Paris Hiltonīs family is zillionary how they canīt afford a Cessna Citation Jet?!

only 2 things possible...

1) Their Jets are on maintenance...

2) They are still waiting for the brand new jet they bought...

The Sedins flying Comercial jets only on 1st class of course. these guys deserve. Actualy Air Canada should create the "Canucks Force One" to transport the Canucks...

Didnt' approach them but I have seen both Wesley Snipes and Chad Krueger in line at security. This was before Snipes went bankrupt, and Krueger is, for whatever reason, very reach. This people fly around so much, it would be insanely expensive to have private jets.

Private jets, unless they are the big boys, dont have the speed or range for a flight from Europe or Asia to get to North America in decent time so yeah, most celebs will fly first class for international flights. A Bombardier Global Express can match a 747s speed and range but it is a very large extremely expensive private jet that even the average A list celebrity would have trouble justifying. And since most stars want to appear to be environmentally aware private jets dont fit that image anymore.

Heres a fun story: In 1979 Paul Stanley of KISS booked a private jet for a flight to LA from a small airfield in upstate New York. He decided to delay the flight a few days but wanted the jet to wait there ready to fly. The rental company rotated flight crews in and out every 8 hours 24/7 for the next 11 days before he finally decided to cancel the flight alltogether. The total bill was not revealed but at current prices thats over $1200 PER HOUR every hour ($316,800)if he didnt get a discount for the long duration. If KISS hadnt made a comeback in the 80s Paul Stanley would have gone bankrupt after having made over $100 million dollars because of things like that. His spending habits went far beyond idiotic.

. Paris Hilton´s family is zillionary how they can´t afford a Cessna Citation Jet?!

Paris Hiltons grandfather, the patriarch of the family and holder of the entire multi billion dollar fortune was so disgusted by Pairs and her sister acting like porn stars in public that he gave over 1 billion to charity a number of years ago and had the rest to go to various charities upon his death. All of it. The Hilton family fortune is gone.

You do realize that the Hilton sisters make their own money right? They arent making billions but they still rake in millions. Not to mention all the money that their father has made through real estate deals and investments.

He kinda seemed like an ass so I didn't bother saying anything he wouldn't talk to anyone and had his body guards stand in the way of anyone walking even close to him. Seems like a pretty painful existence to me. Actually I have a pretty funny story that I just remembered my cousin was getting married and gene Simmons was in edmonton one year for the Indy and was staying at the hotel that he was having his wedding at so we got some wedding photos with gene he was super nice and was like oh weddings I don't do those and was kidding about not taking a photo with us at first.

well. considering only the range Global Express (executive version of the CRJ-700/-900), Gulfstream V, Embraer Lineage (executive version of the ERJ-190), BBJ and BBJ2, ACJ and ACJ2 (on progress) are offered as "standart" and have a global range. big corporations have them. even presidents have them (the Canadian Government have an executive Airbus A310) pretty humble eh? (ok Iīm kidding...) :)

but for a hollywood star they donīt have to go to Asia non-stop. just fly inside USA and Canada and sometimes to Caribean and South America. in this case a nice turboprop like a King Air 350, a Cheyenne II, an Embraer Brasilia are very recomended. they are cheaper, land in almost any runway and can cross USA coast-to-coast non-stop.

an actor who receive millions canīt afford a King Air 350? cmom!

OR a VLJ (Very Light Jet) like Cessna Mustang or Embraer Phenom. theyīre faster than turboprops but still cheaper than a big jet...

or even piston powered planes! a Seneca V or a Piper Meridian can fly for a very long distance and are cheaper than a turboprop, glass cockpit like a B737/A320. every country singer in South America have at least a Seneca V and a King 350...

Iīm still surprised thay Paris Hilton donīt have a Jet. sounds wierd you guys telling me that I can find her on an Air Canada B777?
