according to psychologists, that means that you pay too much attention to race, you may need some diversity training.

And if I was to say I think that Koreans, Chinese, and Japanese are all the same, then the same psychologists would tell me I need some sensitivity training, lol.

Does there need to be a specific sweet spot where I kind of fail, but not exactly? (for the sake of over the top politically correct discussion.)

yep, but if you were to say I know they are all different, and I celebrate all of their differences and cultures for what they are, but I cannot determine which is which simply by looking at a picture, then you'd be doing right-o

That's good to know. Next time I meet an asian person, I'll intentionally get their race wrong. And when they correct me, I'll respond with the prepared relevant greetings and customs.
amidoinitrite?

Jokes aside, I couldn't really see any way that simply being able to identify someone's race could be viewed as racist.

i don't think they consider it racist, they just think you're TOO focused on race... then again, it's psychologists were talking about, they read way too much into everything.

not seeing race is the lowest actualization along the race spectrum.... or something like that.

I see race when being paired along side culture as something to be celebrated. And it's something everyone should feel comfortable with. Simply acknowledging it's existence is not a bad thing.

exactly, we shouldn't not acknowledge our differences, but celebrate them.

UMB was upset when I couldn't differentiate what type of Asian my next door neighbor in my dorm was. I never even said he was Asian until I was asked, I just called him horrible for blasting Oppa Gagnam style for 2 hours.

I rest my case. UMB is racist towards people who don't sort races by race.
