If anything it's a compliment to him because fans here wanted him on the Canucks, and now they're mad.

I'm sure he expected some sort of backlash when he signed with a division rival.

That Johnny Gaudreau kid who plays for Boston College looks like the real deal even with his small size. Kids clutch 4gwg in 8 games. Feaster has really helped turn their poor drafting skills around.

Let's wait and see before saying Feaster has done this or that.

it's already evident that they've started to draft skill over the big western Canadian kids Sutter would draft. But yeah none of them are really NHL ready yet other than Baertchi

I care. It's classless.

If you think Van fans are bad, wait until his first game against the Ducks. Getzlaf and Perry were both choked when he didn't sign, they are gonna run him through the boards.

You're the one that wants to boo a player. Did Shultzy make you feel rejected? Shultz made the best decision. He will be an awesome player on an awesome team. Get over it.

Anaheim's gonna be a very hostile environment when Schultz is in town.

And to the people that went to the game just to boo Schultz, get over it. He signed with the team that would give him the best opportunity to become a star, in that case it was Edmonton. He wasn't gonna get top 4 minutes in Vancouver.

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

Gaudreau has one NHL goal whereas all your "prized" prospects have none.

So you're going to boo someone because of their logo?

I for one don't give a crap about a player's team. I cheer for Eberle and RNH regardless of their jersey. Eberle is a great player who has done some great things for Team Canada. RNH had a great rookie year and is a good playmaker. I'm also know him IRL. Hall has crazy speed and has a great shot. Who cares if they're Oilers? They will be destroying the NHL when they are all in their prime.

I cheer for Bergeron because he is a great two way forward and can score well. I don't give a frack about the Bruins logo on his jersey. Marchand is different, I hate him, but not because of his Bruins logo on his chest, but because of his dirty plays.

I cheer for Toews because he is a great pure offensive player. I cheer for Patrick Kane because he has a sick mullet and he is an amazing sniper. I couldn't care less about the Blackhawks jersey on his chest. Sure I hate the Blackhawks as a team but not their players.

You guys just need to grow up.

I was at the game tonight. It might as well have been a home game for OKC.

Max Reinhart is not far behind Bartschi at all.

I really like Reinhart's game too. I'd argue he will be at least a year behind Baertschi due mostly to their respective skill set and the Flames needs.

Baertschi will get the call much earlier than him because the parent club needs top end scoring but since Reinhart is likely to be a checking line player it makes sense to continue developing him in Abby.

I agree though that he will eventually be a very good 3rd line center. He has enough hockey sense to contribute once and awhile on the scoresheet but his faceoffs are already unreal. With a little more strength he will be a bull. Canucks fans will grow to really dislike him.

The management loves Reinhart because of his versatility and his hustle. He might make the team earlier than you think because you can plug him anywhere in the lineup

Some people have no sense that we're just one of 30 teams in the league so if he didn't sign here it must be because we turned him down.

He turned the Canucks down, hence the boos. He knows he will get more ice time with the oil and they are an up and comer so you can't blame the guy. He made the decision he felt was right for him. I agree, have some class and lay off the guy.

Why are Canucks fans booing him? As far as I know he turned down 29 other teams. Is he going to get booed everywere he plays? Grow up stupid Canucks fans. No wonder we are tagged as biggest duchebags. Unreal. I'm sad we didn't get him, but move one! MIke Gillis will not gaurantee anyone ice time, and he will stick with that philosophy for any unproven player.

Canucks fans are really low sometimes.

Wasn't one of the rioters the VPD is desperatly looking for from Saskatoon? Don't listen to that him guys.

What a snooze-fest of a game ... Schultz is definitely a bright spot, though. Leading the league in scoring, which is incredible.

I agree that booing Schultz is definitely not classy at all, but it comes as no surprise. This is the same city that has booed the best goaltender we've ever had out of town, booed our captain, rags on Art Ross trophy winners, etc. all the while they drool over 7-goal scorers and prospects that have accomplished nothing. Not everyone in the city, obviously, but a significant enough number that it's not abnormal ...

Ya, well, I'm a Canucks fan but I'm a hockey fan first.

I take the chance to go to Abbotsford and watch a game as much as I can so I'm pretty familiar with the guys there. Saying that, outside of Baertschi and Reinhart, there isn't much there. Bouma will be a good north-south winger though probably a 4th liner, Brodie is a PP specialist at best and Nemisz has a shot to be a regular NHLer as a 2nd-3rd line tweener or a career AHLer. The rest are basically scrubs right now.

I also got a chance to see Tyler Wotherspoon this weekend with the Winterhawks and he looks like a very solid pick too. I'd favourably compare him to a Steve Montador (if you remember him as a Flame). Solid two way guy that will probably never be a big scorer but can be used in all situations though a little less gritty with a better first pass. He was a good pick for the Flames.

No love for Horak? (though im sure you just forgot about him, I hope :P)

And other than Markus Granlund who's still very raw, the 2011 draft is looking AWESOME for the Flames even just one year after. Baerschi, Wotherspoon, Gaudreau, and Brossoit. Sucked that our own 2nd round pick which Chicago had was used to take Saad, worst part is Granlund was 2 picks after

Oh god, who gives a frack if some Canuck fans are booing him? Trust me, he's not going to cry himself to sleep. He's a big boy. It's hockey, fans are passionate and even stupid. A little jeering and booing is expected. This "classless" crap is so overplayed. Stop being so sensitive.

I'm not a huge Horak fan. He has too many flaws in his game to be sure bet in the NHL. He has to be in a top 6 and he lacks commitment to defense and he 'pulls the 'chute' a lot. I question his ability to score from the tough areas at the next level.

Gaudreau, from what I understand, is a little ....well....little. He's highly unlikely to make an impact. Brossoit isn't going to make a difference for 4-5 years at best so talk to me then. ::D

Overall, 2011 was a good draft for what the Flames had but Weisbrod has a lot of making up to do for some horrible drafts before that.

The fact you know Weisbrod is the responsible one for the recent Flames drafts is pretty cool. Closet Flames fan? :P

Horak played in the NHL for a big chunk of last season and held his own. Once his offence comes around he'll be a decent player. As for Gaudreau, think Atkinson, but more shifty. Hobey is in sight this year

No, no....I'm a hockey nerd with some inside access. I hate the Flames.

There is a fine line between AHL and NHL and my personal opinion is that Horak doesn't have it. There was a good reason that Calgary also got two 2nds with him for Erixon (Wotherspoon and Granlund). That still may wind up being a good trade for the Flames.

The list of Hobey Baker winners that played well in the NHL...... small.

I know this discussion is probably best suited in another thread but this one is short lived anyway.

What I think the Flames should really do this year:

- trade Kipper, let Leland Irving play.
- sign Iggy. Keep him until he wants to pull a Ray Bourque or let him retire a Flame.
- acquire as many 2013 1-3 round picks as possible
- let Cervenka and Baertschi play top minutes.
- get rid of Hudler as soon as possible

Brossoit is nothing special from what I've seen. He's big and athletic, but his technique is sorely lacking and his mentality/attitude is just awful. Anyone remember the WJC game where he got rocked and Canada lost and he was saying things like, "If we had a goaltender, we would've won?" I don't want a guy with that attitude between the pipes on my team.
