The ONLY way I can see Lu getting moved and Philly letting Briere come over would be if somehow Bryz was taken off their hands, Meszaros' injury threatens his career and the thinned out D-group (Coburn - Grossmann, Timonen - Schenn, etc.) don't perform to standards or faces several injuries (particularly to someone like Kimmo).

Lu plus one of Tanev or Ballard could interest them if everything fell in place (Ballard has the Top-4 experience but Chris is more stable and if Kimmo gets injured he may be able to step in and play a stabilizing role there, even though he may not score much).

Obviously the Briere trade wouldn't work. And all repsect to Daniel, but I'd prefer a younger first/second liner than him. Not to mention you can see his production has dipped over the last three seasons. Evidently he has left his prime and is on the decline. This lockout will be killer for him and a handful of others.

How can Daniel's production be dropping when again he won the 2010-11 Art Ross and Ted Lindsay??? And no, for the last friggin time, you cannot tell a player is 'on the decline' by just ONE season that was cut short 10 games, where Daniel could've very easily gotten 2 points in each of those games. Would you have still written that post if Daniel's last three point totals were 85, 104, and 87 instead of 85, 104, and 67? Doubtful. And if you have seen the way the Sedins train over the summer, you would know that they would be just fine heading into this season if there is one.
